SPB Pocket Plus or ILauncher

Hello,

Im currently debating which of these to buy. I like how they have the battery indicators and the program icons.

But not sure which is better, ive tried both trials.

Pocket Plus is 18$ - ILauncher is $9

Any comments on which you like would be appreciated.

Thanks

If all you want is a launcher, ILauncher is very good (and doesn't use a lot of RAM). However, if you want more than just a launcher (utility to close programs when you tap X, .zip support, enhancements to the built-in file explorer and PIE), then Pocket+ is the way to go.

Phillip

PS - I'm testing the current P+ beta version, and I like many of the changes they're making to it :)

Do a search here on AximSite, there have been a few prior threads on this topic, and download and trial each in sequence to see which you prefer.

I would go with a combo of Wisbar Advance 2 and iLauncher. You can also add PocketBreeze too.

Below is how my PPC screen looks with the three combined.

Pocket+ runs extremely slowly when compared to my iLauncher right now.

I'm running the latest beta of Pocket +...I love the new icons but I gotta tell ya, the battery indicator justy aint working. No matter how low th ebattery is it still shows it's running at 100%...and even if it's not connected to the charger it say's it's charging. But to be fair it is still a beta. I'm waiting for the new release so I can hopefully get that fixed. I don't wanna go back to the older version as I really like the new icons. O well

Are you sure that the battery meter point and display your battery status not the backup battery instead. That could be why

I'll check, but it wasn't before I loaded the beta over the latest release, I don't think it would have changed or could it?

not talking about combinations.. IMO (with the latest versions) p+ vs. iLauncher.. p+ wins. I tried the latest version of iLauncher but quickly moved back to p+. just wasn't happy with the current features. I donno maybe if you are used to iLauncher you'd feel the same way about p+.

That's why both products exist; because different folks prefer different things.

PocketPlus did not provide the icons in the system tray that iLauncher did, yet iLauncher does not provide the close function nor the PocketIE enhancements that Pocket Plus did.

I have both PocketPlus and iLauncher, myself. I am currently not running PocketPlus. Running iLauncher + MagicButton + the Resco Utility Suite gives me what I want right now. Pictures (need to update those soon) are linked to off my View MyPDA.

Exactly what I was going to say... except I'd tried P+ for a week and was rather disapointed with it. so I went back to iLauncher. P+ was too big and heavy

So the advice to any user would be, Try both an pick the one (or 2) that you like
