While I've heard of WiFi Companion, what other similar products are out there for free or for sale? And while you're thinking about that, what would be the Pros & Cons of each?
I'd like to try a WiFi product that just has a simple GUI, one that is intuitive to newbies, and one that lets you save Favs like "Home", "Work", "Panera", "Semolina" and so on so you go in, sit down, power up, and click on a button that says "Panera" and POW! you're online and not getting messages about connect and dismiss.
Are any of the available products that simple?

I have the free version of Socket's WiFi Companion, which is nice but doesn't always connect so I have to run the free version {search engine should find it} of PocketWinc which works 100% of the time everytime.
I'd like to give WiFiFoFum a try, but I'm a little confused about how to install it. Do you install the Net 2.0 program on your PDA, and if so, is it OK to install to a CF card? Then once that is installed, do you click on the WFFF installer or copy it to the PDA? I tried doing that and it would not unpack.

IIRC the file is not a zip, it's a "windows Installer Package" and when I copied it to my CF via ActiveSync, tried to run it and it didn't do anything. I also tried running it from the laptop within the same folder as the NET file (Also a Windows Installer Package), and I keep getting the message that I need to download the NET file in order to run the Program file. Like I said... it seemed like an endless loop.
I'll keep playing with it, but I'm wondering if WFFF is a resource hog needing this much larger installer deal?

Tried that already. You click on that file and are lead to a page with multiple versions of the Net program, so you still download two-separate files. It isn't a true automatic installer. I'll try again
Still can't seem to get the installer to work.

It is. The web page it takes you to is to load the latest .NET framework on your desktop/laptop so that the installer can run. Everything you need for the PPC *is* contained in the installer.
Another way of getting the latest .NET, instead of trying to pick the right one from the page presented, is to use "Windows Update" http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ as that will present you with the correct one for your system.
axjax. Firstly, the place to continue this discussion is here on the forum, not via PMs.
You didn't fully read what I posted previously, (or maybe I didn't word it well), because you said:
5. I get the latest 2.* NET Framework and save it to my laptop.
6. I try to run that file and I'm told (at this point) that NET Framework is already installed on my Axim and do I want to reinstall or uninstall.
If you re-read, my post, what I am telling you, is that the message from WiFiFoFum2Installer.msi, is telling you that you need to get and install the latest .NET on your laptop/desktop, where you are running the install, not the Axim. It has nothing to do with what version of .NET is on the Axim, as that is taken care of, once you get the installer to run.
So, the procedure is. Firstly, update you laptop with the latest .NET, either by choosing the correct package from the referenced web page, or use Windows Update to do it. Then, double click the WiFiFoFum2Installer.msi install.
