Alternative Web browser NetFront 3.3 Technical Preview 1.05 is out!

Access Inc., developer of the alternate, quality Web browser NetFront, has just released the new (1.05) Technical Preview of the forthcoming version 3.3 NetFront.

It seems it has nothing new - I've thoroughly compared it to the previous, 1.04 Technical Preview and found no (visible) changes. Still, because the previous version will cease to function tomorrow, downloading and upgrading to the new version is highly recommended. You can get it from here. Just uncompress the ZIP file after downloading and run the EXE file inside for it to be installed. And, don't forget to change the font type from Courier New to Tahoma inside ;)

Please read this review of the previous, but, on the GUI/capabilities level, identical version for an overview of the capabilities of the new version.

Thanks for the heads up!

I'm actually typing this on netfront right now. So far I'm liking it for the most part except for the following.

It doesn't pop up the input panel automatically when you tap in a text box.

Everytime I load google's personalized home I get a security warning asking me if I'm sure I want to view a nonsecure page. I searched all through the options and haven't been able to locate something to rurn this off.

Other that that, this software looks great! It loads a LOT faster than minimo and opera. Cant wait for the final release!

You can enable this at (Menu/)Tools/Browser Setting/General/Advanced Setting/Auto pop-up

Any idea how to disable the warnings about opening a secured page? If that would stop popping up, I'd pretty much say this browser is darn near perfect.

Go to Tools/Browser Setting/Dialog, disable Switch HTTP/HTTPS pages

I tried both version 1.04 and 1.05 and they're definately way faster than Opera, PIE, and Minimo. Minimo likes to crash and on my PPC, and Opera takes forever to start. Netfron can load pages as fast as desktop firefox!!

I have the expired version of 1.04 installed. Can I just reinstall 1.05 or do I need to uninstall 1.04 and then install 1.05? I tried to uninstall 1.04 and then reinstall 1.04 but it gave me the same message that the software had expired. Is there a 30-day expiration or a version expiration and if so, how do you get it reinstalled? Thanks.

Yes, you can install the new on top of the old version AFAIK.

A new TP version will be surely released before 1st April.

One thing would be great is to have flash player on it the macromedia flash 6 player does not work on the program like it does on Microsoft Internet Explorer for pocket pc.
