Calendar problems

Some (but not all) of my all day activities such as birthdays are showing up the following date. For example, my sister's birthday is April 17. Yet, it is showing up on April 18. If I click on the item and "open the series," it states "Every April 17." This makes no sense. It knows it's supposed to be April 17, but is showing up April 18.

Anyone know why this is happening?

How are you setting the event? All day? If not does it run from 12am to 12 am?
