Or not, I realized that there are not mosquitos this time of year here. Well, I'll see if it annoys me.

That's right especially for young folks. As we age our ability to hear high frequencies degenerates so eventually we can not hear those 20kHz frequencies any more. I am not sure if I can still hear 20kHz, but I think a 16kHz tone emitted at intensities that drive mosquitos away would bother me too. 9kHz at audible volumes would be inconvenient to almost anyone.

Provided that, as you rightly question, the speaker in the Axim can actually transmit high frequencies at sufficient intensities.

I've coded my own version for getting rid of elephants....

.... seems to be working pretty well as I haven't seen an elephant in Liverpool all day :approve:

LOL! I used to live out that way. It wasn't mosquitos that would ruin your campout, it was worry on whether or not you would be floating the next morning!

As beautiful as the area is, I don't miss the rain....or I-5/I-405 traffic.

Back on topic, I'll stick with the spray repellent and candles if necessary.

Oh, triva....did everyone realize that there is no area of the world that doesn't have mosquitos?

The mosquito program works great. I downloaded it and forgot to install it. Even so, we haven't had a single one all winter since it's been sitting on my hard drive.

Ha Ha...you guys just robbed of $4 bucks...I bought my Axim X51V back in Oct 05, and with all the bugs(no pun intended) I've experienced with it, I've been emitting a high pitch whine ever since...
