GPS solution for monitoring races ?

Hello,

I'm using TomTom Navigator 5 Wireless Blutetooth GPS solution. As I'm running or riding bycicle, I'm looking for a free application which would tell me how long I've been running and also how many kilometers I've been running.
Of course if on top there are some statistics, recording, best race .... kind of things, would be perfect.

Does anyone ever seen that kind of application ?

Try Vito NAvigator II. You'll have to download the plugins too.

loxtrax , available via www.magnalox.net is a very cool application for just this. Small, yet very versatile. Best of all, it's completely free. It also supports logging of trips, and gives you some statistics. The logfiles can be analysed further on your PC, with an application of choice.

Another cool factor is that your entire route is displayed, and you can even use these to overlay them on for instance Google Earth

Hie BartS,

Loxtrax looks so nice on feature description that I decided to test it.

Nevertheless, I'm not able to use it ...

I have a DELL Axim X51 PDA (so running under WM5) and a TomTom N5 Wireless Bluetooth (so TomTom Wireless SirfStar III Bluetooth GPS system).

I've installed Loxtrax successfully. Configured on Com 8 for receiving GPS data.

But, it does not seem to work. Nothing is displayed. On the blank screen, there is text which is togletting :
- 'Opened GPS interface'
- then 'No valid position'
- then 'Closed GPS interface'
- Then it restart with 'Opened GPS interface' and so on.

What's going wrong ? Do I have to do other operation than simply instaling and configuring on port Com 8 ?
Do I have to download a specific file or map ?

Would be great you can help me ...
