If by "install" you mean downloading the modules from the Pocket eSword site to your Desktop PC and running the executable while you are "synched" to your Axim, then yes.

I don't know how similar the process is on the X5 (I have the X51v), but here is what I did:

1. Plug my Axim into its cradle
2. Get an ActiveSync connection
3. Browse to the Pocket eSword
4. Download the modules I wanted to my desktop PC
5. Run the executables (to install from your Desktop PC to your Axim)
6. Rinse and repeat step 5 for all downloaded

I installed Pocket eSword into the main program memory, and the modules onto my CF card. That is seeming to work out pretty well for me.

Good luck! (well, if you believe in luck anyway)...I should say "Good prividence!"

In Him,
Jeff.

Jeff,
I did it! With your assistance,I figured it out. On my sd card instead of naming the folder "my documents", I named it Pocket e-Sword because the path was not recognized by Pocket e-Sword. I am downloading every bible, commentary and dictionary I need and I have e-Sword on my desktop with maps! Thanks for sticking with me through this.

Hopefully someone will be helped by our efforts,

Just so you know there is a way within Pe-sword to change the folder for the locations of bibles/commentaries

I'm glad that you got it worked out :)

I really like the ISBE even though it's not the revised version.

I am good to go! I have 4 bibles (favorite- KJV), 4 commentaries (M Henry), 4 dictionaries (Easton's) and the Day By Day By Grace devotional. it is my intention to follow a 6 months reading schedule of the entire bible. I am loving this walk with God.

When you downloaded the KJV Bible did you just copy the file over? It is an *.exe*.What you need to do is open it on your desktop and it will allow you to place the *.bbl* file.

On your cf card, create a folder named "Pocket e-Sword" because the path is not recognized by Pocket e-Sword's Resource Location.

Please let me know if that tip works for you.

I hope that works for you. Please let me know.

you're a christian too, lat? that's awesome :D

didn't realize esword had a ppc version. i've already purchased laridian's software package though. i like it decently well. i do miss some features that i've never had though. i've heard olive tree software had better offerings, but since i did the trade in service with laridian (traded in my palm software for ppc software), i would have felt terribly bad for asking for a refund to get a different software.

anyone else think olive tree software is better? any reasons why? i might end up getting both someday lol.

OliveTree is one of the three programs I use, (e-sword, olive tree's BibleReader and Laridian's Pocket Bible) and here's my reasoning:

I would like a chronological daily reading program and an OT/NT maps index.

yup. I love my Jesus =D

yeah, e-sword has a ppc version, and it's very very good except for the fact that it's slow (sqlce db) and the fact that it doesn't have an NIV version. however, i think ESV is pretty darn good (in terms of accuracy and readability, it's somewhat between NASB and NIV), so i use it and i'm happy with it. I use ESV + Wesley's commentary
Yeah, i purchased the desktop e-sword set too, and it's nice for analzying passages with all the parallel translations

Is Laridian with NIV (+study) any good? is it fast? i might consider it sometime...
