I use a ftp-program called ftpview. It is a freeware. There are others but this will do. Remember upgrade to A02 or A03 Rom or FTP wonŽt work.

If you search rom upgrade or A03 in the Forum then you will see a full guide to do it, if you allready hadŽnt done it.
In short, it is a software upgrade from Dell that correct some bugs in your PDAŽs Operation System.
Check your version: Push Start - go into system - into settings and finaly System infomation. Then you can see your Rom Version. If it is A01 then you should upgrade.
Remember to make a backup

Did you configure it as in your FTP on your workstation PC.
Hostaddress, username, password. What do you use for connecting, phone or lan. It should work just fine when all the settings are correct.

I'm in the same boat. I loaded FTPView to my Axim (A03) and setup the IP address/logon ID and password. I get back a msg immediately saying "unable to establish a connection". This is what I get when I try to connect to another PC on my LAN as well. I can get to the net for other things but not for FTPView. I'm connecting by Wi-Fi card (Linksys WCF12).
Thanks
Mike

I use a program called ScottyFTP its pretty nice, and easy to use, give that one a try too, it might be more user friendly.

Have you used Scotty FTP on an Axim? Or on PPC2002? I understand from reading the newsgroups that PPC2002 has a problem with FTP. I'm wondering if that is the problem I'm having. Thanks for the suggestion. I may go check it out and see if they have a trial.

I use it on my axim now to connect ot my university account and some other places and it works fine, even downloads really fast over wifi, the only drawback i see is with folders with logn name sro files with logn names its hard to read them, you need to scroll alot.

It is true that Scotty Ftp is much more userfriendly. The isue about Axim and Ftp is correct, but is solved when you update to Rom A02 or A03

OK, I tried Scotty FTP and it DOES work. (What a shock ;) )
I tried several of the free ones again thinking maybe I was doing something wrong with them and...no go. I guess the others are meant for other devices (not XScale at least not the Axim). Unfortunately I can't see doing enough ftping to pay the price of $29.95 so I will just use my card reader to read the CF card and then ftp with my desktop PC. Thanks for the help and info folks.
