Question WebIS FlexMail 2006: Today Plugin

I'm hoping someone knows the answer to this. I installed Flexmail 2006 to try it out. I was prompted if I wanted to make WebIS my default mail client. I chose "no" as I am just checking it out.

My problem is that the mail today plugin (WM5 default) does not display any messages that are unread in Flexmail. The today plugin has a 0 message count.

Is this because WebIS is not the default? Or is outlook's today plugin not capable of displaying the message count from Flexmail?

TIA

Bingo - Flexmail (to my knowledge) does not use the same mail database as the default mail client does.

Let me explain a bit - If you have 3 separate mail accounts, lets call them exchange, gmail and comcast ....

Exchange more than likely will go into the default mail client since you would set it up with activesync. This WILL display on your today screen plugin.

Gmail and Comcast WILL NOT display on your today screen since they reside in a database built by flexmail. I am not aware of any way to get that to display on the today screen.

Recommendation - ask on the webis forums, maybe somebody knows a work around? www.webis.net/forums

Thats a 5 star answer! Thank you for the information. I didnt realize Flexmail used a separate DB. I'm so used to 3rd party applications that integrate using tasks, contacts and calendar DB's.

Now it makes sense why Outlook's plugin showed 0 messages
Thanks again :approve:

is there no other today-plugin available, which can display (new) mails from flexmail's database?

Not that I'm aware of sadly. One day WebIS may add a today plugin which would be great.

I do not use FlexMail myself, but there is a public beta of Flexmail 2007.

Yeah I doubt WebIS will release anything. That company has such poor service and thier support is terrible.

Wow. A thread resurrected after almost 6 months just to make a negative comment.

Anyway ...

I do now use FlexMail 2007, contrary to my prior post.

I find FlexMail 2007 to be a much better product than the standard Pocket Outlook and even better than the prior version from WebIS.

Just today I was reading the thread on the WebIS forums that discussed the progress on Rev 2 of FlexMail 2007.

And it looks promising for SBSH PocketBreeze to have a FlexMail interface soon. I believe that Spb Diary may already have it.

BTW, until midnight Sunday Central Standard Time (TODAY), WebIS has a sale going on.

Actually SPD Diary does support Flexmail, so the topic of a today plug in is mute for me since I am a Diary user :approve:

SPB Diary got it right by integrating with Flexmail, I wonder when will PocketBreeze be able to do the same?
