Take a look at AnthaVPN (based on MovianVPN technology):
http://www.anthavpn.com

Another one I know of is from Apani Networks:
http://www.apani.com/vpnclients.html

Cheers!

anthavpn is EXACTLY like movian vpn...just user interface is different. apani vpn was no help either.

BTW...I LIKE TO MENTION ALL OF THESE 3 VPN SOFTWARE MESS UP MY DELL NETWORK UTILITY WHEN U TRY TO UNINSTALL THEM.

luckily i did a backup of my axim first and did a HARD RESET to get everything back working again.

so i guess no one here ever get vpn to work correctly huh? i have use my axim to the fullest ability music, movie, IM, bluetooth headphone, etc....and if i can get this vpn to work...it will make my life complete.

I use the Apani 'demo' version. I've had it working with our Nortel Network Contivity system for a few months now. What problems are you running into?

drenthanator: well i downloaded a demo version of apani and installed it on my axim x30 and tried to connect to my cisco asa 5510 seris adaptive security applicance. i can connect on my regular computer using the cisco vpn software.

when i try to connect to vpn using the apani...it said something about not being able to negotiate...then disconnect. my question is do i need to do something or configure something on the cisco firewall in order for my axim x30 to be able to connect?

please let me know...thanx.

Sorry, all I needed to do for access through Nortel was enter my user name, password and the destination ip and it worked first shot. I see that there are settings for 'Keepalives' which I left as enabled. Don't know what that may do.

i think "keepalives" is to keep the connection on while you are connected...it helps from losing connection.

thanx for your help. but i guess my dream is over.

Hi, I accidently searched for VPN and found this thread. Me and some other guys got the NCP Secure VPN and Bluefire VPN working with a Cisco Concentrator 3000 gateway. While you have a 'Cisco asa 5510' it might work anyway, as both clients are designed to beeing compatible with a broad range of VPN gateways. Furthermore, I found the Bluefire and the NCP Secure to be somewhat more 'gentle' to the built-in WiFi than Antha.

I suggest you read this thread:
http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showthread.php?t=117352

It's not very long and you will find a lot of experiences about both Bluefire and NCP, besides a lot of experiences about getting VPN to work. If you have any questions just reply in this or the other thread. I'll check both regularly in the next days.

Good luck with the VPN,
Thomas

You are right, nothing comes up when you search for VPN. I guess words with only 3 letters are ignored by the search engine! My search-term was actually "Cisco"! :)

Ok, the settings in the other thread was only supposed to be suggestions. The settings you need depends on the setup of your VPN-gateway. If you are connecting succesfully with your laptop using the Cisco VPN-client, you should find the client program-directory and find the file named [connection name].PCF. Open this with notepad, and you will find some of the information you need.

Finding the right settings can take hours, you have to find them by trial and error..

Hope it will work for you..

You need more settings than just username, password and IP gateway. As you are probably using Cisco's VPN-client on your laptop, you could navigate to the Cisco VPN-client directory and look for the file [connection name].PCF. This will be your settings file for the connection. You can open it with notepad. Things of interest are: Encryption algorithm, DH-Group, group name, group password and things like that.

But as the screenshot you have to check your IPSec parameters, and this means that you have probably set the IKE values right. My working settings are:

IKE setup:
Encryption Algorithm: 3-DES
Hash algorithm: MD5
DH Group : Group 2
Perfect Forward Secrecy: enable

IPsec setup:
Encryption Algorithm: 3-DES
Hash algorithm: MD5
Compression algorithm: None
Perfect Forward Secrecy: disable

But those are not guaranteed to work for you; you have to find the settings which work with the setup of your specific gateway. Change one value at a time and try a lot of different combinations, and eventually you wil be succesful.
