Question File transfer

Is it possible to transfer a file from the desktop directly to the SD card rather than first to the Built-in storage? If a file is large, the built-in storage (Axim 400) does not seem to have enough capacity and the transfer is halted.
Thanks.

Yes, you can.

If you are using activesync on your desktop, it has an "explore" mode that in conjunction with M$ explorer will enable you to put files directly to anywhere you want in your Axim.

If you are going to be copying large files or a large number of files to your SD card on a regular basis, I recommend getting card reader for SD cards. (You can find them fairly cheap on any of the electronics sites on the web). The transfer rate is much faster and you will run into fewer problems.

it will take alot of time to transfer a large file to it. If you're planning to transfers many of large files to your sd I advice you to get a cardreader.

With kind regards,

I second the cardreader reply... but with a twist. I just bought a Lexar "JumpDrive Trio" to use with mine. It is essentially a USB thumb/pen/jump drive, but instead of having the flash memory built it, you slide in your SD/MMC or Memory Stick. So, you get an infinately expandable USB flash drive AND a USB 2.0 cardreader for $19.99.

It is WAY faster than transferring files to a SD card than using the Axim. I mean WAY WAY faster. Like transferring a CDs worth of MP3s in 7 seconds vs 4 minutes. I've seen the JumpDrive Trio at Walmart, Target, Compusa, etc. Just about any place that carries Lexar Media.
