Free File Dialog Changer - v1.65, with WM5 support
Quote:
This is one of those little utilities that hardly takes up any space on your PocketPC (a 5kb EXE, a 6kb DLL library) but which makes life a lot easier: the program replaces the "Save As..." dialog box in applications and provides a decidely more complete interface with more ergonomic navigation...
It's the type of program that shows Microsoft how it should be done.
Note: the author's homepage is in Japanese, search for the text "FileDialogChanger" among the kanjis and other kanas, when you find a clickable link to a .ZIP file, you have found it ;-)

I think satisfying windows mobile users is at the bottom of his list.

Are you sure this is about File Dialog Changer 1.65? FDC is actually a .cpl file (12kb settings applet) that requires gsgetfile.dll (37kb) to run.
That's still small.

Did you:
Download gsgetfile.dll and FileDialogChanger from http://www.geocities.co.jp/SiliconVa...upertino/2039/ (the download links are directly below (2nd or 3rd link) the names)? Did you then extract the arm versions of filedlgchg.cpl and gsgetfile.dll to \windows on your pda, and finally do Start-Settings-File Dialog Changer and check the checkbox (Exchange Standard File Dialog)?
It worked for me (X51V A06 english ROM), and a beautiful file dialog it is. I second the japanese wm5 update. :)
Edit: Sorry. Didn't check the links. Direct linking not possible

I did this and the registry hacks...
Will try it again with a hard-reset on weekend.
Btw: How can i erase the cpl-file without an hard-reset? The file is always in use...

Downloading these zip files state they are corrupted upon opening with both windows zip support and trying to extract with WinRar. Check files and try again.
I went to the developers site and downloaded these files directly. Kinda hard since everything is jibberish, but if you have your status bar (located at the bottom of your browser) then you can see what file the link goes to. Just make sure you get the .zip files of each variety.
I loaded the two files again after a hard-reset and now I can save my Word, Excel, etc. Files in every folder. That's nice!
But a Cab-Installation is like before. I tried the registry hacks again but they didn't change anything.
Maybe the registry is incompatible with TotalCommander that I used for it.
