Icon3 Net Cf 2.0 - Cab Files Posted Here!

I had real trouble installing this program. For one there were no links to download the software. There was a Microsoft installer, but I looked at the details and..24MB! Additionally, I have ActiveSync troubles. I found a solution and here it is. Just copy and paste these links.

Full PC installer: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=9655156B-356B-4A2C-857C-E62F50AE9A55&displaylang=en" target="_blank">

Cab installer (WM 2003 + SE): http://www.itnetwerk.com/misc_files/....ppc.armv4.cab

Cab installer (WM5): http://www.itnetwerk.com/misc_files/....wm.armv4i.cab

(PPC2002 and below not supported)

Hope this helps people in a similar situation to how I was.

It (the 24 Mbyte MSI installer) is, but not the much smaller CAB files themselves.

my bad. i'm always looking at things from the developer end. 24 meg ain't bad, and it's everything. ;)

there's a redist somewhere, but i doubt it's in cab format. i suspect MS doesn't distribute cabs, with the exception of the old embedded vb runtimes.

i do wish everything came in cab files tho. i had to hard reset yesterday, and start reloading everything :( activesync got a workout, and i'm still not done.

Sorry, forgot to mention that the links are redistributable. The cabs are not MS files, some kind person ran the msi installer, got the cab, and posted it on his/her site for all to use.

<QUOTE> Microsoft

Overview

The Microsoft® .NET Compact Framework 2.0 Redistributable contains the common language runtime and class libraries built for the .NET Compact Framework. In addition to supporting version 2.0, it also supports applications developed for version 1.0 and service pack releases before version 2.0.

This download includes a CAB installation workaround for Windows Mobile 5.0 devices with low memory.

Important: This redistributable enables running .NET Compact Framework applications on the Pocket PC, Pocket PC Phone Edition, Smartphone, and other Windows CE powered devices. To develop .NET Compact Framework applications, Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 or the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 SDK are required.

This package uses ActiveSync 4.0 to update the device. Be sure to dock your device first before running NETCFSetupv2.msi. If your device is not docked, ActiveSync will store the CAB file until the time when you dock your device. Those not using ActiveSync can run the CAB files which match the device found in the install folder directly on the device.

System Requirements

Supported Operating Systems: Windows CE .NET; Windows Mobile 2003 software for Pocket PCs
Supported Device Operating Systems: Windows Mobile Software for Pocket PC 2003, Windows Mobile 5.0 for PocketPC and Smartphone, Windows CE .NET 5.0 and higher.
Important: This download utilities Microsoft® Windows® Installer technology. Windows 98 and Windows ME users should install the Microsoft® Windows® Installer 2.0 before proceeding with this download.

Instructions

Click the Download button on this page to start the download, or choose a different language from the drop-down list and click Change.
Do one of the following:
To start the installation immediately, click Open or Run this program from its current location.
To copy the download to your computer for installation at a later time, click Save or Save this program to disk.
