I was very happy w/Sprite until I just noticed that it stopped doing automatic backups 3 weeks ago for no reason. So I set it to do automatic backups starting tonight and it told me it cannot and that I must reinstall the program. Very strange.
Previously I've had mixed reviews. It's saved me a few times, but it has also inexplicably stopped doing automatic backups before as well. So when I restore, I restore to old info. You have to check this program often to make sure it's doing it's job.
I'm going to take AkaJohnDoe's advice and remove and reinstall and hope it runs correctly again.
If you are having troubles switch. Backups, are very important with a PDA. Many people here obviously use Sprite, as I do, but don't let that sway you. Switch to the other backup progam, and get your unit backed up.
I used to use Sprite as well until it's graphical user interface decided to go completely invisible during backups even though it was still working. I now use SPB Backup and it is fine.

Probably this happened when we switched to daylight savings time. I reported this in their forum at the time and they said it was a minor bug that they will fix at some point (they said the same thing when we came out of daylight savings time last fall, but they haven't fixed that problem either).
I was particularly unimpressed with their attitude towards customers when they ended the beta of Sprite for WM5 a week before the release would become available, leaving all their WM5 users with their rear ends hanging out for a week (the beta timed out and refused to run).
I have also found that the couple of times I have done a partial restore, I then got duplicates of some (not all) of my appointments (even though the files I restored had nothing to do with the PIM).
But even so, for the most part it works well and I probably will stick with it. They're just not high on my list of customer-oriented software developers (but slightly higher than OCN )
I've had some problems with Sprite too. Sprite backup failed to restore not just once but twice within a short period of time. So I bought Spb backup and now every few days I make backups with both Sprite and Spb.

I've been using SPB backup for my X50v and X51v, I've done hard resets and restores on both machines and everything came back exactly as it should. No Problems.
Good Luck,
Jim

SPB Backup works for me but feature wise I think Sprite does a way better job. It allows you to do more when you're backing up your Ax or restoring. I would say try your best to get Sprite to work and possible get a trial SPB Backup. If you absolutely can't get Sprite to work even after posting it on their forums/emailing them, then get SPB Backup. Don't waste your money on another backup software unless you really absolutely have to. Better off using the money to further upgrade your Ax.
Too bad Sprite doesn't have a trial. For those undecided, it's best to try the Spb Backup trial first. If it does what you want, then buy that. If not, then I guess you'll have to buy Sprite and hope for the best.
Personally, Spb does all I need and has not failed me yet.
I would deinstall Sprite, soft reset, use a registry editor to remove all traces of it, soft reset again, then install a fresh copy of Sprite Backup.

I have also noticed my scheduled backups quit about 3 weeks ago.I had Sprite scheduled to backup daily and the last time it did so was 4/14/2006. The next scheduled backup says 3/30/2006. I received the same error message as stevenator65.
But what is the process to reinstall? Will I have to purchase the program again?
I posted the last message a bit prematurely. I have re-installed Sprite. The scheduling issues seem to be resolved. Thanks Stevenator65 for having the same problem as I! And thanks to AkaJohnDoe and Sar840t2 for being so helpful.
