I have searched both here and Google. I have found several applications that seem like they would do what I want but they all do a lot more.
I need to time the length of time my dog's medicine is on his food. He has an enzyme inefficiency and I have to time the artificial enzyme is on the food before I can feed him. At home I use the minute timer on the microwave but when we are camping I don't want to have to bring a separate timer.
Anyone have any recommendations for something that is quick and easy to use?
Awhile back our own Silentknight wrote a neat program called TeaTimer . I"m not sure if it will work in WM5 but you could at least give it a try. Here's the thread where the whole idea orginated, in case you are curious:
I am also looking at zipTimer1.0, Timekeeper, and PocketClock1.22. They cost $2.00, $9.95 and $14.95 respectively.
Any one have any experience with any of these? They say they work with WM5
I have PocketClock (by Megasoft2000) and use it all the time. It also includes a screensaver when your Axim is docked, with a choice of timepieces to display. It was worth the purchase price IMO. Try it out, they have a free, fully functional trial (30days, I think).
I've also used StopTime (freeware), but not sure if it's WM5 compatible.
Some of the ones I tried wouldn't work (alarms wouldn't sound) if you used a utility that shutdown, instead of minimize the clock app. Not a problem with PocketClock. Also the VGA looks GREAT.
I also use Pocketone Stopwatch on my x51v and it works fine with WM5. But, it adds a new font to the device which messes up (of all things) the control panel for mirror mode so that none of the text is visible. It doesn't matter to me, though, because all I do is check the box to turn it on and that is still visible.
I didn't test out the alarms, but the stopwatch and timer worked fine on my x51v.
You have to calibrate the stopwatch by comparing it to another stopwatch and then putting in a correction factor - I guess it may run slightly faster/slower on different PDA's.
I've had no trouble with 'Timekeeper' and on it is a clock called 'Run Laps' which is the one timer that you can have to time up or count down; it's a very reliable timer and you don't know when you will need the many other facilities it provides! Here's a pic of the 'Run Laps' that I think will be ideal for you:
It is really nice but simple up or down minute timer.. No customization of sounds or view, other than day and night views. It has large buttons so is finger friendly and large numbers so it is also eye friendly.
Oh, it is true --- I do not own a watch! :approve:
I am using stoptime for some time now and it offers what i wanted which is a sound every 15 seconds with no limit. It does have a stopwatch, a several timers a calendar and reminders plus a lamp. It offers a lot and its free and yes it works on x51v WM5 (A06)
