Lol ... ;-)

I used to work in a IT department.
When I retired I had to return my x50 to my boss :-(
I knew it would be used by some of my very skilled colleges.
I didn't worry about my crypto files, but had some very personal txt and email files stored.
So I reinstalled the system ROM, made some BIG scratch files and performed a hard reset.

Your shredder would have done a nice job here.

Are we even :-)
bummer you had to return it
looks like both are hands are even. haha.

hopefully it will be of good use to someone, somewhere. i've already used it twice myself on some excel files i needed to eliminate safely.

Great! Recently I've spent sometime looking for anything like that, the only thing I could find was Airscanner Encrypter (it has a shredder built-in). I really hate that program (Airscanner), since I've (almost) lost my very important files once due to its malfunction...

Thanks for the link, I'll give it a try! :)

how about this, zaniax...

i'll put out another version by the end of the week that overwrites free space as well the specified number of wipes. I was pondering it and it'll be no big deal to add it.

look for a new version by the weekend (i do most of my code in my free time.)

When I worked for sub-contractor military company, we had a shredder to shred old THINGS (paper, schematics, hard drives, circuit boards,...). The test of it was how quickly it could pulverize a bowling ball. Yes, pulverize - turn it into dust.
For hard drives, they also ran schemes to overwrite the files there.
Sounds like a good program, and I'll give it a try too.

Maybe a PM will be appreciated ....

BTW: My Norton 'shredder' leaves out one cluster ...

Which programming tools are you using ?

And ... do you know of any good hex editor so that I may scrutinize the ax memory ?
