This looks to be like a VERY good app. I decided to give it a whirl and am encountering a problem when attempting to send a message. Hope to see if someone can help me out here and perhaps point me in the right direction to fix it. Here is some information:
Status: Failure
Mode Used: Both text and PDU
PDA: Dell Axim X51v running ROM A12 OS version 5.1.195 build 14957.2.3.1
Phone: Samsung A900, USA, network type I assume to be CDMA (Sprint).
- Latest version of .NET CF v2.0 has been installed (downloaded and installed today)
- No other bluetooth stack is installed other than what came with the Axim
Problem:
It appears that the phone pairs up fine with the Axim. The app see's the phone fine as I am able to select it when the app prompts which device to connect to. Upon initial send, the phone shows "Connected as data modem" and the progress bar on the app goes half way and then I get a message stating, "Failed to send SMS". I have tried both text and PDU modes with no success. I have also tried sending with the option, "Manage Bluetooth(TM) as needed" checked and unchecked. Still no luck there.
I have also deleted the devices from each both times and paired the devices successfully. App still cannot send any SMS messages. Another thing I would like to note is that if I try to close the app via the switcher bar I always get a message saying that the app is not responding. Ending the task usually kills the app. When I launch the app and try to send again (unsuccessful) and try to kill it getting the same "not responding" error. I sometimes get a message also saying that my program memory is low and the Axim gives me a list of programs to kill. zSMS is one that is listed.
Does anyone have this same setup and is able to get it working? Anyone have any ideas? Thanks for the help!

I have had failures in the past, which I solved if I recall by resetting Axim, reinstalling zSMS, powering phone on and off and starting again. I must say it works consistently now (Motorola v3).
Hi!
I have SonnyEricsson T630 and Axim x51v (WM5 A06) use zSMS v 0.6.0.0.
I can send 1st SMS normally but with 2nd during sending proggress bar stop on 3/4 of line; after few seconds get Failed to send SMS! (or so).
Soft reset Axim don't help, only after turn off - on SE T630 I can send again.
2nd problem:
if I send SMS to number on another GSM network I get Message sent! but my Network provider send me message that receiver number doesn't support receiving SMS. That's not true; it receive SMS normally from T630.
Now I click to another person from "contacts" in zSMS and got message:
Error
An unexpected error has occured in zSMS.exe Select Quit ... restart .. this program..bla..bla.
One suggestion: I'd like see History list with sent numbers when input first few numbers in future version.
Anybody have suggestion for my problems with zSMS?

Yup, I have tried resetting the Axim, reinstalling zSMS (multiple times now), and powering the phone on and off and starting all over again. Still no love for me, my Axim, or phone. Hopefully the developer can make heads or tails about this problem. Is there a way for me to grab a debug of this thing on the Axim by chance?
I can send you the .cab file that worked for me, if that's what you mean? But, I guess you meant that you need the developer to do something, in which case I can't help.... Good luck,
Kevin
I installed zSMS to use with my Axim 51v and Sony Ericsson K800i.
On running I get the dialogue box:
"Device not selected. Please pick one."
Then the error:
"An unexpected error..." etc.
On clicking details I get:
zSMS.exe
FormatException
at System.ParseNumbers.StringToLong()
at System.ParseNumbers.StringToLong()
at System.Convert.ToUInt64()
at
zSMS.FormOptions.FormOptions_Load()
...etc.
haha =( to use (even to test) this little program one has to install a monster from ms with 24 mb download, that will not be used for other software on one's pda? a very clever selection of development tools indeed.
as long as win mob 5.0 doesn't provide .net 2.0 preinstalled on pda's the user base for any such software is doomed to remail very narrow.
luck!

Failure:
The first time I run the program, I get this message:
'Device not selected. Please pick one'
then i click 'ok' and zSMS quits with the following error:
zSMS.exe
FormatException
at System.ParseNumbers.StringToLong()
at System.ParseNumbers.StringToLong()
at System.Convert.ToUInt64()
at zSMS.FormOptions.FormOptions_Loas()
at System.Windows.Forms.Form.OnLoad()
at System.Windows.Forms.Form._SetVisibleNotify()
at System.Windows.Forms.Control.set_Visible()
at System.Windows.Forms.Application.Run()
at zSMS.Program.Main()
Just a note to say that it worked fine with my Nokia 6310i when I tried it just now.
I do have the CF 2.0 installed (also as part of WiFoFiFum).
Good work BB,
Thank you for this app, the commercial ones I have tried before finding this do not seem to have managed to get the SMS bluetooth working - then again, if there are people as smart and generous with their time and skills as you, they need not bother!
I thought that it was all going so well - I now cannot send an SMS via the same setup! I even rebooted to x51V, but still it comes up with the message "SMS not sent"
Any ideas? or diagnostic options? or alternatives?!!!
