Whatever happened to Ripboard?

I used to use ripboard as my entry method all the time. It was free and fitaly, so it was everything I was looking for. But last week my x50 got some sort of memory problem and it had to be replaced (kudos to Dell btw, they overnighted me a new one after about 10 minutes in a support chat room). So now I'm trying to put my system back together again--and buy some backup software--but the links to download ripboard aren't working.

Does anyone have the ripboard files they can post here? Or is there someplace I haven't looked yet?

Thanks!

I have it. I will have to spend a little time with my pc to upload the file, however.

ripboard fitaly

Here it is. Inside the zip, the .exe is an installer to run from your PPC. The ripboard.ini file is the .ini with the FITALY keyboard.
Good luck.

you might want to consider building a data base of all of the files that relate to your ppc. i have a folder that contains backups rom files programs and things like that.

Just for the record, I thought I should post the instructions for installing Ripboard for posterity's sake.

The zip file contains three files.
1. Put ripboard.dll and ripboardini.txt in the windows folder on the Axim.
2. Run ripboardsetup.exe from whereever it sits the Axim. You might as well keep it in the windows folder too, since its only 10k and that would be the easiest place to find it again.

If you want to remove it, just run RipBoardSetup.exe again and delete the three files.

Thanks again for reposting them PocketBrain.

Icon14 Ripboard is tops for me

I tried many different keyboard entry systems and settled on Ripboard (fitaly layout) as the most practical for daily use. It gets my vote, and you can't beat the price.

Just for the record, in My Pda, under Reviews, look at Software Keyboard Roundup and you'll see Ripboard along with many other soft keyboard panels, along with pictures, pricing and links.

Okay, here is the brand-new Ripboardini.txt file (zipped) optimized for landscape. Note that I modified the FITALY jumpboard kbd, but you can cut and paste the Landscape piece into the normal ripboardini.txt.

To install, first install RipBoard, then simply copy the ripboardini.txt file into your PDA's root. If RipBoard is already installed, just copy the ripboardini.txt file over the old one.

I think it looks much better than the stretched version of the normal keyboard. The keys have the same dimensions as the standard keyboard in portrait layout. Took me 2 hrs. and a lot of Excel work to make this. Much shorter than if I had manually adjusted the numbers, though. I think I'll drop this into a standard ripboard in a 3-way with Landscape, Portrait, and Special Characters.
I sure wish RipBoard would support gestures.

Thanks for the layout! I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get a list of all the keys that can be modified? Especially an escape key. It would be very useful for the PPC port of Blender3d found here http://russose.free.fr/BlenderPocket/
Thank you again for the layout!

It looks really nice PocketBrain, but am I blind, I don't see the download for this file?

Ack! What did I do? Oh yeah, I copied/pased from the other thread, but forgot to include the download link. Look up at the post you quoted, Ken S, I added links to a couple of threads that I posted a few files on. Note that I have made 3 versions of the landscape keyboard, two versions with FITALY and one with QWERTY portrait layout, considering most people don't know what FITALY is anyway. Heck, I never use it. I changed the layout a little, putting the D-keys in a layout similar to a desktop keyboard's.
Newest layout looks like this:
