I just got my Axim and I have it where it will sync just fine with my INBOX from Outlook but I can not get it to sync with my SENT MAIL at all. It also syncs fine with a personal folder I set up.

Any ideas what I need to do to fix this?

are you using outlook 2000 that came on the disk? I found that problem sometimes when i was using endora or outlook express.

Is your outbound email going thru from your Outlook? Not sure if this helps but I had a similar issue with my Outlook on my windows system (not my Axim).

I had outlook configured to use POP3 and SMTP of my corporate email server. While my incoming emails would come in, my out going mails will not go thru. It turned out that my ISP (earthlink) would not allow SMTP traffic to pass thru to prevent email relaying. So, I had to use the earthlink SMTP server to send outgoing emails and then it worked like a charm.

In your case, I am assuming that since your Outlook is unable to send out the emails, your sync is leaving the outgoing emails in your Outbox.

I am using the smtp server of my ISP (I believe), see the pic attached. Any other ideas what I might try?

Sam,

Are you able to send emails successfully thru your Outlook? If yes, then your setting is fine. It is something else that may be causing your Axim not to sync.

Many ISP's do not allow plain text authentication when connecting to their smtp server.

The Axim, as far as I can tell, only does plaintext auth when outbound in a pop3/imap (ie not exchange) setup.

I had to reconfigure my smtp server to allow it, inorder to get the outbound working on my axim.

i am using a personalized domain name, and am experiencing an inability to send as well. send is fine. just cannot recieve. did you have luck with this "allow text auth" suggestion? where can i set this up?
