ok. version 1.2 is posted. this should take care of the activesyc 3.8 issue. want to give it a try, anna?

edit: i just tested this on a win2k box running as 3.8 and it ran fine. there was a single registry key in 3.8 that does not exist. (activesync build #)

if anyone runs across any other weirdness let me know.

More of a theoretical question than comments on activetweak, but would it be possible to write a diagnostic utility that told me what was blocking the activesync connection between my laptop & my axim? I've been told firewalls, virus protection, VPN software, all that junk mucks up the connection, but here at work I need to be able to point to something more specific before my IT guys will lift a finger. Thanks.

John.

Hey, thanks for the software. Your avatar makes me a little nervous about downloading it... [just kidding]

This is the best site ever.

John.
theoretically, yes, you could. the problem is that it would have to have a database of possible causes that is kept up to date, as new causes seem to appear. secondly, it might not always pick the right cause.

some causes are obscure, and some are purely environmental, affecting no other machine than the one you happen to be using. how would you check for that?

your best friend in activesync troubleshooting is google and aximsite's activesync forum, IMHO.

I have been trying to find a way to rearange the order of the syncronization. I would like to make the syncronization of my Access Databases be last on the list because it takes to long to syncronize large databases. Perhaps I am the only one that finds this to be annoying.

unfortunately, that's built into activesync itself. i have no access to that. nice idea, just not possible to change.

i can answer this one....
when you click the post there's a "+" button. click the dropdown.
you can attach a picture from your computer by browsing for it. it also shows the file types and max sizes supported.

Did that once but got a link only - not the picture.

Will try again, thanks.

just wanted to make a brief add on.

i tested this with the beta of activesync 4.2 yesterday. still works like a charm.

activetweak supports AS 3.8 through 4.2 now.
