what is it about weekends and my pounding out software? I honestly don't know.
People looking to tweak their PC's activesync will find this helpful. and you can even DELETE PARTNERSHIPS WITHOUT REINSTALLING ACTIVESYNC. Am i crazy, or what?
you need a pc. it has to run windows. it has to have the .Net framework on it, and most importantly, it has to have activesync installed. tested on activesync 4.1 YMMV
I'm still using AS 3.8. Will activetweak work properly with it?
as far as i know the registry keys that are affected are the same in both versions.
the guest forever tweak is an old tweak i came across from activesync 2.8 or something, and still works with 4.1, so i'm guessing the major registry settings you'd be adjusting with activetweak are the same ones as have always been there. and research into how activesync stores profiles indicates to me that's the same as well. (althought the profile thing seems to be some secret MS doesn't talk about)
in any case, if you come across some weirdness, let me know.
weirdness = blank timeout fields , error messages , or odd data appearing in places it probably shouldn't

My PC has Windows ME (German), .NET 1.1 (German) and ActiveSync 3.8 (German).
If I start your tool a message comes before. Please check my screenshot.
After closing the message window, ActiveTweak start.

thanks anna. that tells me there's a registry key in activesync 4.1 that doesn't exist in 3.8. i'll have to take a look (although i left the code on my work computer, so i cant til tomorrow )
once it does start, do any of the labels on the general tab say "label1"?, what does the activesync version say? on the timeouts tab, is anything 0?
i'll have to install activesync 3.8 on another machine and look through.
thanks for the info!
