Question Newbreak w/ Opera Beta

I have an x51v with both Newsbreak and the Opera 8.5 beta installed. I set Opera to be my default browser. So far, so good. However, when I read my channels in Newsbreak I can not link to the "Read more online." An error message shows up. On the other hand, when PIE is my default browser the "Read more online" link works perfectly fine.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Maybe its a beta issue? I'm new to betas. How do I report this? Do I report this so they can address it?

Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.:approve:

The site of the beta program should have a link for reporting error to them. Use this link and type the problem to them

I think our favourite Monkey meant that if you go to the Opera Forums and report the problem there then they may be able to fix it in the next version

I've posted a lot of bugfixes I've invented on here and in my blog. Check out the Tips and Tricks section in here at AximSite and the Web browsers section in my blog ( http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/ind...?blog=3&cat=61 ).

Yes, when Opera is set as a default browser, you won't get "read_more"s and no global update to channels in NewsBreak (it's in the Help file)

I think this should be reported to Ilium as well

I did send a summary to their tech support. I don't know which program is at fault, I just hope one of them decides to fix it eventually.

I did find a registry hack to change the default browser back to PIE:

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\htmlfile\DefaultIcon]
(Default) iexplore.exe,-1003

...

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\file\Shell\Open\Command]
(Default) iexplore.exe %1

You don't need that regHack, Just go to Opera settings and uncheck the "default browser" box

There is a solution to this problem in the final OPera. It has been discussed in the last few posts at http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/foru...c.php?p=404778
