Baseball

I am looking for a program that will work for scoring and keeping stats for my sons baseball team. Is this anything out there like the paper score sheets that you can use on a PPC?

If someone knows of something let me know.

Thanks

I imagine someone's Excel solution could be adapted pretty easily to ppc. I thought about this when coaching several years ago but didn't find anything at the time. Times were different, pdas were less powerfull, screens were lower res and not very visible in the bright light of baseball games, etc.. Still seems like a good idea if and when the hardware makes it feasible.

One problem, of course, is that baseball people are not known for being ahead of the technology curve. This is true even with all the hoopla over MONEYBALL/Bill James and his disciples. You're just as likely to have a coach spit tobacco juice on your pda as ask you how it can be useful for his team. Even many youth baseball people are hopelessly out of it. But you probably already know this.

Good luck and post again when you find or create something that works.

Clearly, I spoke too soon. The above solution wasn't posted when I wrote. Baseball Scorebook PDA looks interesting. However, the better it is the more likely old-timers will rebel. I would try it if I were still coaching. The ability to replay games would be invaluable for players, especially pitchers and hitters, and coaches with the right attitude.

I like the suggestion that was posted. I am still looking around. If someone has any suggestions or has a program that will work, let me know.

Thanks again

Suggested above, you could just use excel. Before the game put titles on the categories, then save it. Then type the stats in the box and save it at the ed of the game with a new name. Plus, excel is a lot better format, because you could export it to windows pc, print out, a lot easier.
