egress problems

Hello,

I downloaded and installed egress.
A lot of the headlines that I read have images, and this is where the problem is, I sometimes (more then 70% of the time) don't see the image, but just a white box.
I tried changing the image viewer to internal, I tried not saving the images inside the items.
But the problem remains.

I have a Dell Axim x50v with windows mobile 2003 and I installed egress on a high-speed sd-card.

I tried through different conection types, so the problem is not conection related, I tried wifi, activesync and on different lines!

Could you please help me?

have you played around with caching? You may have already tried this --- Pick a feed, go to view then caching. Select cache enclosures and web content.

There are some rss feed experts here that may have better advice...

I tried that, the problem is that in the same feed there are headlines that show the images and there are others that just show a white box.

I have the exact same problem. I'm using latest version of Egress, and it's not a problem with the caching; it's the images in the actual feed that don't show up.

My experience is that if you press and hold the white boxes with the stylus, a contextual menu will show up prompting you to download the images. But I have no ideas why this step is necessary in one feed but not the others.

Did anyone try to use a different RSS reader for the same feed and get a different result?

Hmmm...okay, the latest feed item i've gotten does have its pictures, but the prior ones didn't. I previously saw that I had the "don't show images within items" box checked, and I guess it doesn't kick in for old entries...okay, maybe it'll work for all the new entries from now on.
