Journal Bar

Is there anybody out there using this piece of software.
with Active Sync 3.7
It seems that since I updated to Active Sync 3.7 Journal Bar doesn't work as it used to.
It first of all does a soft reset evey time I place my PDA in its cradle.
When its got over this I then cannot view web site as its says I am Forbidden.


Has anybody experienced these problem and what can I do to rectify.

Do you have the latest version of Journal Bar? I purchased it in April and have already seen at least one update while running Active Sync 3.7. I have had a couple of times where I had to do a soft reset to get Journal Bar to update, but that has only happened once since upgrading Active Sync to 3.7.

Journal Bar

I downloaded the software again today after support said this is what I should do.
The version number still shows it to be 1.3.0-3 even though support says the latest version is 1.3.0-5

Hmm... mine says the version is 1.3.0 - 6. Have you tried uninstalling and then reinstalling from the downloaded file?

Yes I did that this morning
Uninstalled from the PDA deleted the files from my PC.
and dowloaded from Handango again and still it said the version was 1.3.0-3

It sounds like Journal Bar is not uninstalling completely. Perhaps someone else has an idea on how to fix this. Sorry I couldn't help, but I don't have a clue how to proceed from here.

I have done everything you suggest.
You have to do a soft reset when you unistall the program, it asks you to.
Just tried surfing the Internet using Explorer, and get the message: "FORBIDDEN" You were denied access because:
Access denied by access control list.

Journal Bar Axim Reset

This is a problem that has plagued the Journal Bar for sometime now. Go to Journal Bar Options. Go to the links tab. Unclick the "Display this page" box. Go back to the today screen. Resync. If the sync now works okay, this problem is talked about in great detail over on the Wormhole Creations board. The movie listings on the link tab has been causing the issue. The updates of JB usually include Movie Listings pages that are current and accessable. It is when the page is not accessable that the resetting of the Axim takes place. Hope this gets you on the right trail.

Thanks for the reply.
I have tried everything people have suggested, reloading the software not displaying the Links checking for updates.
Tried again this morning could only get 2 weather pages and and a stocks page, which gave me the same numbers against each setting Exchange rate was the same as Stock price etc.

I read some of the comments on the web site you suggested, and it would appear the software has not been fully tested.

I think until they get the problems sorted they should withdraw the product.

I can certainly understand your frustration with JB...it's been buggy since I first loaded it, too. Luckily for me, in my location, it has calmed down some, and I hope it improves for you.

I've just yanked Omega's Battery Pack off my Dell after months of dealing with all of its issues, so I can commisserate.

The best thing I can tell you is that they give you free updates, so check back in 6 months, and see if people think the quality has improved.

I've had Battery Pack a lot longer than Journal Bar and have had no problems with at all, I know this is the usual classic reply but have you got the latest version

I started the other thread, active now, which is "Giving up on Battery Pack"

Yes, I've got the newest , and had trouble with just about every aspect of the program.

I'm glad at least one of their progs is working for you! ;)
