How can I set/change which phone number is initially displayed in Outlook 2003 Contacts on my Axim X51 (WM5) - when you initially go into Contacts and it lists all of the contacts and ONE of their phone numbers. How does Outlook determine which number to list when there are multiple numbers available for that particular contact?
I have noticed on some contacts the work number is displayed, on some its the home number and on others its the mobile number. I have a few contacts where the e-mail address is displayed. How can I change this so a telephone number is listed instead on that initial screen instead?? I cannot seem to find that setting anywhere.
Thanks.

What do you mean "which phone number displayed first?" Are you saying when you pull up your contacts tap on Jon Doe what phone number listed first,....

When I originally go into Contacts on my Axim, it lists all of my contacts - Name and one contact number on the initial screen. This is before I actually tap on a particular contact.
John may have his cell number listed, Jane may have her home number listed, Jim may have his work number listed. How can I chose which number is displayed on that initial screen?

It looks like it all depends on what number you have under each contact. If you have a business number and a home number for John Doe then the business will come first because that is how it is listed in the contact. If they only have a cell number, then only the cell number will appear...At least that is how mine is when I played around with it.

That's what I figured - there was some pre-determined order...but what is bugging me is I have a few contacts that list the e-mail address on that initial list of contacts when they have phone numbers in the actual contact record as well. Those are the ones I want to try and change.

To change the number or email address displayed, tap the letter next to the phone number or email (It's usually a w for work, m for mobile, h for home, or e for email). Then it will display all the contact options and choose the one you want to display.
I have no idea how Outlook on the desktop chooses which is most important.

When I tap the letter next to the phone number, it takes me to that detailed record where I can view/edit it. However. I am still not able to "change" what number is displayed on that initial screen. If I hold down on the letter, it takes me to the Beam/Cut/Copy/Paste option.
On the ones where the e-mail address is displayed, I deleted the e-mail address, then a phone number was listed, which was good. However, when I re-added the e-mail address, that then became the "default/primary" contact. There has to be a way to change what number is lsited, I just cannot seem to find it. Any other ideas/suggestions??
