Jeeezz,,,
Thanks guys and gals,,,,what a responce,,Should have started a poll on this subject really, but then again statistics arent much use without the additional personal experiences supplied in the thread replies.
As i said in an earlier post,,i already have wisbar 2 advance now ,, and am delighted with it so far,,so am probably gonna keep it.
As for ilauncer and pocket breeze,,, i will give them both a good look over in the next day or two. It seems that these 3 programs are the peoples choice and quite obviously work hand in hand very well,,so could be the next step for me.
Once again,,, thanks for all the replies,, all very informative,,
Well done aximsite,,, wot a great place for axim owners .:approve:
Cheers,, kev.
I have a licence of pocketbreeze and tried several times to switch and use it with ilauncher and using a task manager....
But it doesn't make it .. at least for me , i tend to like spb pocket plus and spb diary better.
I guess both spb and sbsh are great ppc softwares companies. Just try various setups for a couple of weeks and pick which one you like. It is just a matter of personal preference.
I want to clarify myself -- in all fairness spb pocket plus works like it should. Spb also has other good products too (backup software and full screen keyboard).
Overall I prefer PB, WA2 and iLaunch. SBSH has above average customer support.
OK. So, all of this support for Pocket Breeze has made me rethink my decision to purchase Pocket Plus and diary. I'll give PB, ilauncher and contact breeze one more trial before I decide which to buy.
I also gave wisbar 2 and desktop a try. I like the lawout and feel of them, but I found it was difficult to add new button (you had to sort through the file explorer and find the exe file rather than just clicking a check box like on Pocket Plus.
One other question, I have been checking out a calendar program called Ulti-planner. It is pretty slick, but I can't figure out how to link it onto my today screen. Does anyone use this program? Although the format is nice, it is kind of useless to me if it can't display my appointments and tasks on teh display screen and replace the limited calendar and task display that comes with the Pocket PC.
OK. I know a lot of you out there in Axim land use Wisbar 2 and Wisbar desktop. So, I decided to give them a look. I want to like them. They are very slick and helpful programs. So, I really want to like them, but I am having some trouble getting the desktop configured. So, maybe you guys can help me out and get me the rest of the way there. Here are my questions:
1. Hoe do I put the next page/previous page buttons somewhere that they will always show up on my desktop?
2. Is there a way to jump to a certain page without scrolling through all of them? Can you make a page with a thumbnail of all of the other pages that will jump to a specific page?
3. Can you set a different background picture for each page or does it have to be the same picture for all of them?
4. I have a page that locks up on my, so I can't tap and hold to get the menu to delete that page. How do I delete that page?
5. Where I can find additional themes for it?
Thanks in advance to all of you Wisbar users for lending me some of your expertise.
dgoldring - yes. You just have to move the pages about in the configuration screen, IIRC - you move pages up or down... or you could delete and recreate them.
As far as 'previous/next' buttons, I just usually make them 'sticky', from what I recall. Check the WAD forums on Lakeridge Software for specifics - it's been about 6 months since I've used the Desktop component.
I use buttons to change from page to page. I have an RSS page and so I use an RSS .png as a button. I have a weather page so I used an unbrella as the button. I pinned the buttons, this makes them be attached to each page. So I can bunce between each page.
anyway ... there's the reason why it seems fast on your device ... most of all of us are stucked in the MHz zone ... you seems to be in the GHz zone ! ... where did you do the upgrade ???
if you're not running a thousand times faster then us ... I would say you should return the device
Thanks for the helpful posts on Wisbar. I played around with it more over the weekend, and I have to say I really like it. Everything is right where you need it without being cluttered. I'll definately be purchasing this one.
I'm surprised so many here see the need for iLauncher with Wisbar Advance 2. I find the cascading start menu that Wisbar provides more accessible than putting a launcher on the today screen, and when I had them both, every time I would move the shortcuts in my start menu, it would break the links in iLauncher. Plus I was constantly having to configure iLauncher as I'd add and remove software, but the start menu is pretty much self-maintaining aside from the need for occasional tidying.
