I'm surprised so many here see the need for iLauncher with Wisbar Advance 2. I find the cascading start menu that Wisbar provides more accessible than putting a launcher on the today screen, and when I had them both, every time I would move the shortcuts in my start menu, it would break the links in iLauncher. Plus I was constantly having to configure iLauncher as I'd add and remove software, but the start menu is pretty much self-maintaining aside from the need for occasional tidying.
I know what you mean. The WA2 cascading start menu is nice!
iLaunch offers nicer meters (power, memory, storage) then wisbar. Since I would have these meters showing on my today screen anyway (via a diffrent software), I decided to go with iLauncher. It has all my meters, plus I have the top 9 applications on the bottom of my today screen for fast access.
The meter option is OK in WA2, I perfer more data. I know there is some freeware apps that can handle this, but iLaunch is my personal choice.
I was of the same mineset of not really using a today screen launcher, but after seeing folks experience within this thread decided to go back to PocketPlus (within PocketBreeze) and do a "select all" to have all programs launchable from my today screen. Just seeing all of the programs on the screen helps me remember some of the programs I did not even remember I had. I still access my most common programs from the start menu through a hardware button, but it is nice to see everything on your Axim in one place. Given the tabbed interface of PocketBreeze, this is a nice approach without feeling like my Today screen is crammed with too much information.

Yeah, I do like the thin line battery meter at the top of the screen that iLauncher provides, and also the ability to put icons in the system tray thingie. But eventually I decided that those 2 things were not worth the overhead of running iLauncher. The meter pop-up that Wisbar provides is good enough for my needs and I don't have to switch to the today screen to see it. To each his own. :-)
I agree. It is very helpful and interesting to hear what other people are using and how it works. In fact, because of this thread, I decided to get Wisbar instead of PocketPlus. I just like how everything can be on its own page without cluttering things up.
One question, though. I really liked the meters in PocketPlus. Does anyone have a link to some good freeware meters that I can download?
If anyone chooses to run both WA2 and Pocket Plus (like I do) they really should disable the 'Close' funtion of PP.
The two current versions play very nicely together but that was not always the case.
And with any future update or revision that conflict could certainly arise again.
The same goes for the 'close' function of OmegaOne's Battery Pack.
As a general rule its always a good idea to avoid having two programs fight over the same functionality.

To be honest with you,,,am a bit unsure about loading more programs onto the axim,, surely 2 or 3 programs doing similar tasks is going to cause conflict.
I dont want my axim to become a battleground for software fighting to be the chosen one,,, and i dont really want to be fighting the axim myself,, just to sort out its screen every time i turn it on.
Want to have fun with the thing, as well as using its practical features,,, WA2 seems to be a pretty fine bit of kit,, much better than pocket plus,,,,but i feel a bit left out if i just keep to the 1 program.
Surely all this conflict cant be good for the axim ???
This really has turned into a great thread,,, glad i started it now,, very helpful to me,, and a lot of other contributers to the topic,,,, COOL,,,
I have not seen any performance problems running Wisbar, Pocket Breeze, and Pocket Plus. There is a delay in opening the PocketPlus tab from within PocketBreeze, but nothing significant. I don't see any reason that you should not try all of the programs and decide what combination you like best. You can always remove the programs if you see a performance hit.

I agree with tstall 12. One ofthe nice things about many of these software companies is that they tend to offer free trials. It is well worth testing these programs and finding out what works best for you. I have tested dozens of programs that all seem to have overlapping functions of one sort or another just to find the one or two that I like best.
I love the combination of Wisbar and Pocket Breeze, especially with Vista Portable Edition!

I had been using SPB PocketPlus + Diary, but thanks to this thread, I got curious and decided to do the trials for PocketBreeze, iLauncher, and WA2. Wisbar seems kind of fun, if I could find some skins I like, but after a couple of days, I think I like the SPB stuff better than the SBSH stuff. There are a couple of features in PocketBreeze that just rub me the wrong way, I guess. Purely my own opinion.
I was on the verge of purchasing the SPB package as well, but after reading all of the posts on this thread, I decided to check out Wisbar and WA Desktop. I love them both. I also went back and forth between SPB Diary and PocketBreeze. To be honest, I could tell very little difference between the two, except that Pocket Breeze is much cheaper (plus another thread on this site was offering 50% off) which was a huge bonus for me. :)
