journal bar killed x50v

I decided to try journal bar again - big mistake! I downloaded the latest version and it completely locked up my x50v. I figured no big deal - I made an active sync backup before starting. But guess what, the active sync backup didn't work!!! So I grabbed last nights spb backup. That worked :)

Two things I learned - journal bar is glichy (I have tried unsuccessfully to get the latest version to work 3 times over 2 days) and spb backup works better then the active sync version.

The next time I install a new program I am going to make a spb backup.

BTW - I wish I never spent the $$ on journal bar. Pocket Weather and Egress works much better.

I've been using JB on my X50v for over a year now. I've had to reinstall it a couple of times (last time about 3 weeks ago), but it hasn't locked up my device yet (knock on wood). Wonder if it was some combination of programs on your device, or the installation order, that made it crash?

At least you had a backup to work from - and I thought the backup programs like Spb backup and Sprite backup worked better than the built-in backup from Active Sync.

same problem here.i installed juornal bars update a few days ago and my x50v keeps locking up.iI have battery pac pro 2 and journal bar and the newset journal bar keeps locking me up ive had to hard reset several times now.

In OmegaOne's forum, several people have reported the same lockup problem with Journal Bar 3.5.4 .

I have JB 3.5.3 installed on my Axim x51v and it is working relatively well. The weather is not refreshing automatically, but I can live with that.

I'll consider myself lucky (and not update to the latest JB) - I'm on 3.5.2. JB is telling me there is a new update available ... but I think I'll skip that for now!

I would :) I also checked out Omega's forum - they have some major issues to deal with. The funny part is, they won't even answer their own forum! It makes me wonder if they are aware there is an issue.

I mailed support yesterday and heres thier response
"We are working hard on the problems, and should have a fix out soon.
Right now we have two developers looking at the problems that have crept
in.

Whats really the bummer - they finally have proxy support so I could use this at work - yet I can't get it to run!!!

They need better quality control.

They've been very responsive in the past. When I first installed JB I couldn't get it to work at all - no weather, no new, no nothing. They responded to my emails within a day and checked back with me to see if the program was working. Sounds like they may have created a bigger-than-usual problem with this latest update!
