HTTPMail Provider Issues

OK, I have been using HTTPMail provider for a while I have the Hotmail Plus service and it was working fine but now when I tell my X51V (WM5) to send/receive mail, it attempts to do that but then I get an error message:

"Messaging
Downloading a message failed. If you are reading it, please close the message and try again. "

I don't have any emails opened at the time. I even made sure I didn't have any other programs opened to find out if that made a difference but still nothing. I get the same message.

I have done a soft reset on the PDA and removed/reinstalled the program but I still get the message. I even rebooted the PC (XP SP2 w/Outlook 2003) but nothing has changed. I am thinking its something simple but I can't figure it out. Any suggestions?

I've had occasional problems with HTTPmail and Hotmail and usually resolve it by deleting Hotmail on my PPC and then reenter it as new. I don't know if that will help your problem but it's a simple enough solution if it works.

Did you mean to delete the hotmail program on the PPC or delete the hotmail folder in Pocket outlook?

I tried to delete the folder within Outlook thru manage folders but the delete command is grayed out.

On my PPC I would open mail, go to the bottom toolbar and click on accounts > accounts and then highlight and delete HTTP. That leaves me with Outlook only. Then I would add HTTP as if it were a new account. It may work for you...it may not.

That message is not comming from HTTPMail Provider. Most probably you have chosen the wrong service type when you configured your account. Go to Tools -> Options -> Accounts, delete the offending one and create your hotmail account from scratch. The config guide is here: http://www.pocketgear.com/software_detail.asp?id=9539
