pocketpc phone edition answering machine - does such a thing exist?

I just read a review of the Gigabyte gSmart Phone, and man, I'm regretting the purchase of my RW6828 now (but aint that always the case hehe)...

anyway, one of hte key functions I just noticed was an answering machine, this sounds like such a great idea (so you don't have to waste money calling your carrier and you can keep the call on hand)...

However I can't seem to find anything like that for download and was wondering if anyone knew of such a thing - only thing I have found is one which will auto reply with an SMS...

Umm..... I get the keeping call on hand part......but.......

Usually carriers don't charge for voicemail access? Which carrier are you using?

they may not charge a fee, but don't they charge per minute?

I can't think of a single app that does this but there are web based solutions. google web based voicemail. it does exactly what ur looking for

Cingular allows you to check your voice mail from a land line, so if you're that concerned about using minutes, you don't have to use your cell for retrieving messages.

In Australia they charge for access at what ever call rate you are on...
so if you pay one dollar per minute for calls, you are charged that to check voice mail plus the flag fall...

Any way... just read that apparantly the design of the windows mobile and the hardware actually doesn't permit this...

@ darkdestroyer

No, they do not. It does NOT count towards your minuites, at least for Cingular.

As for Australia, I don't know.
