TodayWarrior 0.6 Beta

I'm trying to finish 0.6 Version of TodayWarrior, For those that doesn't know what this program is I'll copy the former description bellow.
But What I need of Axim Users is to test V0.59, almost the next version, report all the failures and whishes.

The new features are:
-Detection of infraestructure/adhoc mode when scanning
-Associated AP is shown when not in scanning mode.
-Greater compatibility with Axims, HTC, Qtek and other brand in WIFI ON/OFF control
-Support for 802.g and n (previously only for b)
-Bluetooth On/off control for Microsoft and Widcomm Stacks
-Time from last charge in hours. Previously we have only Time ON from last chrge. Now we have both.
-Charge and discharge current are now shown on certain PDAs
-CPU Usage graph for the last minute.
-Soft reset button is now full WM5 compatible. It writes down the registry and databases to ROM before execute the reset.
-Brighness control now can be modified taping directly to the desired level.
-Holding Brighness control now let you directly to the control panel brightness aplet.

IMPORTANT: TodayWarrior is, and will remain forever as freeware.

You can find it here:
http://personales.ya.com/beemer/down...arriorV059.CAB

For the people that doesn't know this program, these are the other relevant functions:

Today Plugin with:

Tapping cyclically Remaining time field the display change to Battery Volts, current (mA), power consumption (mW) and battery Temperature in ºC and ºF. This data is only available in some PPCs :

Power off button.
Reset Button: Will display a message for confirmation.
Icon Always ON: Touching this icon changes it to a green color. In this state the PPC will not turn off although we have it set in the energy options. Useful when scanning networks or downloading files. It is deactivated manually or automatically on having charged the battery or if the remaining battery level is lower than 25 %.
Icon Memory: It starts memory control panel.
Icon Today: It starts today element control panel.
Backlight slider: it allows us to change the screen brightness when we are using the PPC with batteries. Turning the backlight off is prevented. The maximum value is user-selectable from options panel
In the options panel there is an option to Turn Off the PDA when the battery lever goes down to 4% in order to protect the battery from running down.

WIFI MANAGEMENT : This line can be selected from Options panel
Icon of WIFI Card ON/OFF: Grayed: without card or not recognized by TodayWarrior. Blue:ON For NDIS cards..
Optionally can be deactivated for PocketPCs with their own mechanism to do so. If deactivated on Dell X50 (not X51), the icon calls the internal On/Off utility.

Shows current connection speed of WIFI card when connected or testing.

Information about available networks: In scan mode shows SSID, Rx level with a color bar and digits, radio channel used and if WEP security is enabled (W) or is Open (O). If several networks were received, two arrows appear in order to change the network displayed (rotational). Normally the most powerful network is selected.

TodayWarrior plays a sound when a new network is found and maintains the lost networks for 30 seconds after they disappear.

beemer,

This sounds like an excellent program. I have been looking for something with some of these features. Is the 0.9 release the best place to start with it?

WifiKnife will show a new release also along with TW0.60, with some nice features as connectig to DHCPless acesspoints and more... and a great integration with TodayWarrior.

Icon14 Thank You Beemer !!!

Today Warrior has been the first App I load onto my Axim after each hard reset or upgrade! I love this program !

Thank you Beemer, for building such a powerful today plugin that uses so little screen space!

I am off to d/l 0.59 right now, and I will be letting you know how it works for me.

Thanks again dude!

Beemer: I assume these are wm5 compatible. I have just gotten my new wm5 device and don't have all my old software loaded yet. I used todaywarrior and wikiknife on my 2003se and found it very useful, esp. wikiknife.

as usual keep up the good work.

WM5 compatibility is one of the great features of TW 0.60.

No more : Would this registry change be saved after next soft reset?.... TW 0.60 soft reset, Wifi management and so on are done thinking on WM5 but maintaining 2003 compatibility.

Hmm

OK. Strange result.

I loaded the new v.0.59, everything looks and works great, except for some reaso, it has a conflict with TdyScheme Changer v.0.4.5. I had TdyScheme Changer set to force black bars for the top and bottom command bars. It worked fine prior to installing the new version of TodayWarrior, but afterwards, it now goes to the default theme colors.
------------------
After a bit of study it may be that v.50.1 had a conflict with Wisbar Advance 2 that allowed TSC to override WA2. v.59 apparently doesn't have the conflict, so now everything is doing what it is supposed to, just not what I want it to.

Time to mess somemore with WA2 to see if I can solve the issue.

Before and after shots:
Today - 071806b.jpg Today - 071806c.jpg

--------------------------------
Also notice the thin green line artifact in the processor meter on the v.0.59 pic.

Maybe OT, but:
Do you know of any hack that will permit me to use the wifi all the way down to 0% battery ?
This will permit me to be online for 1+ hour more :approve:

Beemer -
I clicked on the link in your post #1 to download the cab file directly to my x3i but received only 'junk' on the PIE.
Usually the downloads works fine.
Had to use EzDownload to receive the file.

After installation:
° the light slider still doesn't work
° the BT icon gives no response
° the CPU graph disappears when wifi is on
° my x3i freezes (sometimes) after accessing the option menu
° the wifi on/off icon only turns off - not on

The last bullet is essential to me - so I'll reinstall v.501 until further notice.

Hi Beemer,

this is the first time I d/l TW and I am using it now. (btw, I use TTN5Bot to much satisfaction). I also instyalled wifiknife.
I would like to let you know what I have noticed, even if it might be my lack of knowledge more than TW itself.

Concerning the features I would like to have, if possible, I have dreamed of a button that allows me to turn on BT and connect "the most used device" for instance my stereo headphone. would that be possible?

Thanks and keep giving us such useful tools.
