Both are good programs that work fine. The tipper is Sprite's Upgrade Device feature. I've used this for every ROM upgrade on my Dell and it always worked perfectly. It sure beats loading everything from scratch after every ROM upgrade.

That would be a cool feature, especially as I have SKTools as well! Choices are good! Will this be a WM5-only feature, or also available to Wm2K3.2 devices?

Well I have to agree with majority here. I have owned and used both. Sprite has caused me more problems then Sqb. It really depends on your needs, and what you're willing to pay! Personally I choose Sqb. Additonal aside...Sprite does not have the best Support in the world either, mostly just FAQ............plus it took a full 6mos for Sprite come up with a Backup after Win Mobile 5.0 was released.........this was BAD for those of us used to backing up stuff frequently. Sqb released a good product about 3mos after Win Mobile came out. It works on EITHER Win2003 or Win Mob 5.0. Sprite only workes on Win2003 OR win Mobile 5.0, you have to have the correct version for your OS. Sprite used to be the best but in my oppinion Sqb wins hands down for ease of use and feature set! As far as the scheduled backup vs manual.........I like the manual....I am sure of getting what I need or want. Plus the unpack tool works like a charm.........you can get down to the smallest file. Sprite used to have a complex backup to the PC which I did like............until it started locking up my PC. JMHO!:)
I used SPB Backup. Last two days my X50v crashed and all memory was gone. I did a restore (I did a FULL backup earlier). I faced a lot of problems as data saved in the databases is not restore. This includes:
- Agenda Fusion: Categories are not restored. I have to manually enter all the 20 categories I had and reassigned the icons.
- MyRoot: Data completely gone. Now I cannot remember my grandparents' names.
- CashDiary: All data gone. I have to re-enter all my asset items.

Ouch. I haven't had problems like that myself, yet, and I just did a full restore after a hard reset just an hour or so ago. The only issue I had was restoring parts of the My Documents folder, from what I can tell, but the registry settings for everything else appear normal.
I take it there was no way to seperately backup the data in MyRoot or CashDiary? Even with the backup program, I tend to export those databases when possible, or sync with Outlook to keep them current.

Bummer! SPB backup has saved me multiple times. The My Documents folder has issues because I active-sync it to two PC's. This takes me 20 seconds to fix.
