While updating, opening a RSS channel, or opening an article, Iliumsoft Newsbreak v1.2 will close completely and dump me to the today screen. Anyone else?

I have a hunch. On a screen refresh, Newsbreak isn't doing right by the X50v/X51v video processor.

When I re-open Newsbreak after this crash, the newly downloaded article summary was lost. That is, if I had all articles read, now I refresh channels, Newsbreak crashes... then when I re-open Newsbreak there are no new (bold) articles. I have to refresh channels again to get them to show up in bold.

Hey EngrPaul,

Sorry you're having trouble. Unfortunately (from your POV) this isn't something we've run into before and not something we've been able to replicate here.

Does it happen everytime you try any of those actions? Or only with certain feeds but not others?

Also, my two usual questions are: Do you have it installed to main memory or to a card? And are you using any task switchers (like Battery Pack, WisBar, etc.)?

Also...did you install the ROM upgrade recently?

If it crashes, I open up Newsbreak and try again. Usually on one or two more tries, it finally works. I think it has something to do with a particular site, but that doesn't explain why a few seconds later I try it again and it works OK.

I have Newsbreak installed to built-in-storage on my X50v/WM2003 unit. I use the Axim's switcher bar as a task manager; I do not use a program that closes tasks with the OK button.

I do not use auto updates, only manual ones.

I have not done any ROM updates to this device.
