NYDITOT Virtual Display

Has asnyone tried Virtual Display 3.0 by NYDITOT? I was put off by their warning that installation might cause the need for a Hard Reset. Made me wonder about the stability of the product.

I think that that disclaimer is kind of like those ads on tv:

"There is a 1/1,000,000,000 chance that you may contract some strange form of lung cancer, and simultaneously be attacked by a swarm of monkeys if you take this cold medicine..."

basically, they put that there most likely for legal reasons. I've used the program, and it works fine. I always run backups anyway, doing this right before the installation really can't hurt. It's actually quite a nice app, for rotation, and for color tuning in the system as well. Definitely worth the $15.

Thanks for the encouragement. I have installed, patched, paid for - with the discount - and am now learning to use it!

I tried the app and the first time I activated it my resolution went up so high I almost needed a microscope to make out the text. I know that it was user error on my part but I got a little wierded out so I uninstalled it. Everyone seems to say great things about it though.

If anyone has a tip or two they want to share on it, I'd love to hear it. I wouldn't mind giving it another shot.

I tried it once but everything was just so slow... maybe I needed to tweak some settings or something?

I would like to have some type of landscape mode for PIE etc. though rumors abound that this will be included in PPC 2003... I'm this close to getting the Dell keyboard, but it looks like it only works upright (portrait view).

NVD

NVD 3.02B Works Great!!

Nyditot tech support is very responsive & friendly.

Slow? - that's the price you pay for the benefit - there is a lot of graphics processing happening. The slowdown is not bad unless you're playing a high speed game - so, disable NVD.

In reality - I enable it on occasion for specific purposes

I found out they also license their rotation software to Pocketop & this MUST be disabled (rotation function) in the pocketop driver or NVD will not install.

Also be sure to use the Axim patched version - NVD302B_ARM.CAB
:)

Just checked, and I was using 2.0 not 3.0 - not sure what all the difference is. Either way, I'm going to wait for the 2003 OS to arrive and see if landscaping is built-in or not.

It doesn't... the SDK is out, and this isn't included.

version 3 has some bug fixes, and the ability to edit system colors.
