Seeing as how I live in a hurricane area and was hit by hurricane Rita last year, I'd really like to get in on this. Email sent.

I'll offer to help, but honestly living in Denver I'm fairly protected from these. But I am addicted to weather for some stupid reason...

Hurricanes come in from both coasts here in Florida. Charlie still had hurricane-strength winds when it hit in '04. Since that time I have tracked tropical cyclones mercilessly. I even have a hurricane flag that I paste to the wall at work whenever there is a named storm in the Atlantic.

Well they (and just who are "they"?) say the NE is due for a nasty hurricane, sign me up, too! (email sent). Even though I live inland about 50 miles, winds can be a problem that far inland. Besides, I'm such a weather geek.

I live in Orlando, which is over 50 miles from the west coast, and Charlie traveled over 80 miles overland to reach us with hurricane-force winds.
