Taskmanager wont be removed

Hi

I was playing around with some taskmanagers to find out which i liked the best. And it was vBar, really great taskmanager if u ask me.
But here comes the problem, i then wanted to remove all the other managers i had installed to test, and i removed 5-6 with no problems. But i then wanted to remove Taskswitcher 1.0 (http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/taskswitcher.shtml) because that one never worked on my PPC to start with. But that thing wont get out of my PPC. I still have the icon on my start bar, and if i press it my PPC locks up. I cant remove it from installed programs, i cant remove the folder cause it says the file is in use or something. However i could rename the .exe file. But the program still runs.

How do i get this out of my PPC without a hardreset?

PPC is x50 WM2003 se

Sounds like you can eithor hack the registry (dangerous IMHO) or do a hard reset and make sure your back to a clean system. I vote for the hard reset.

There is a 3rd more viable option...

Ditch the one you have and get a X51v

Well then stay behind the times...sooner or later you will migrate to WM5 at which time I hope you sticky this thread as a reminder of me trying to enlighten you.

Just remove the registry entries, unless you have already tried to deinstall it prior to deactivating it. In that case, reinstall it, deactive it, remove it (then edit the registry if needed).

I have not used that particular task manager; however, most have some sort of Options or Settings screen for configuration.

Actually, you may be able to get rid of enough of it to make it appear to have gone away by using a file manager and deleting the directory where you installed it, then soft reset.

I use total C. I cant delete the directory its installed in cause i cant delete the .exe file in the dir, that the whole problem. I cant open the configuration then my PPC locks up. I tried reinstalling too, didnt do anything.

You could try something that gives you a Safe Mode startup (if you do not already have something like that).
