i don't understand what the point of Egress is

it seems that I just download a bunch of links every time I "retrieve", and I'm supposed to have to connect to the internet to view these articles. Correct me if I'm wrong, but why am I not able to just download them to my axim so I can read them whenever I want, without an internet connection?

depends on the rss feed. Some publishers give the complete story, others just give the headline

I use egress mainly for automatically downloading audio podcasts via WiFi into the memory card of my x51v and listen to them while I am driving or idle. Many podcast RSS addresses can be found from iTunes: NPR Hourly News Summary, NBC Nightly News, ABC Nightline, CBS 60 minutes, BBC Radio NewsPod, New York Times Front Page... Egress is worth every penny of its price; its lifetime free upgrade policy is a bonus.
