I found this just through my google-foo prowess Winmobile Torrent it seems cool, BUT I come from an opensource background and the idea of PAYING for a peice of software chaps my hide, so I think I'm going to write one but in the mean time....
I used Winmobile once and it screwed up my SD card and my PPC. Maybe the newer version is more stable, but I'm wary of using it. I'd definitely be interested in an alternative, especially an open source alternative.
I'm not a big fan of Limewire I feel it's got too much spam/noise/porn while with torrents (the legal ones obviously) I download I never have that problem

Somebody should take limewire and put it on the pocket pc, b/c its open source.
Bittorrent is p2p. It's just that there doesn't have to be a single complete copy out there for you to get yours. How it works: When first publishing, different portions of the file are sent to different torrent subscribers. Eventually, the entire file is "out there", even though no one subscriber has the whole file. But, even if the publisher cuts connection, those who have portions of the file continue to swap, until everybody has a whole copy. This process makes initial publication of a file very fast, as the publisher only need transfer a single file, and a short time later, many torrent subscribers are able to swarm download their copy in record time.
that would be cool to have on the axim. but at the same time pointless for me. why use the slow axim to download when the comp is like 100x faster. then you just put the card in the comp, load the songs on it, then pop it back in the axim. i use Bitcomet on my comp( you can download this from download.com others use bitlord or azurez or other torrent mannagers.) and use torrent search sites like torrentspy.com, demonoid.com, isohunt.com-thoes are the best so far. iv downloaded everything i have on my computer. 7 games, hundreds of movies, microsoft office, Flash MX, MaYa 7, etc. i love torrents because i havnt had to buy a single cd in years. ever since napster came out, iv downloaded all my music. same with software and movies. =) GARRRR IM'A PIRATE! IL DOWNLOAD YER BOOTIE!! lol

Isnt it easier to have the file all-in-one, unless its huge. Wont they get corrupted easier if seperated?

on the contrary. BitTorrent is an versatile, extremely reliable protocol. I think you've got your wires crossed. There are no readily available bit torrent clients that come with bloatware. You would have to deviate from the mainstream clients (BitTorrent, BitCommet, uTorrent - my favorite, ABC, BitTornado, Azereus) to find anything with spam/viruses/adware. However, the same is certainly not true about proprietary p2p software (limewire, kazaa, shareaza, etc). those are 99% bloatware, 1% utility.
google bittorrent, spend a few hours reading - i guarantee its worth every second of your time. you'll never p2p the same way again..... no sense in explaining the protocol here. its very very very well documented, and like "trying to explain sex to a virgin" --woody allen

My axim on wifi off broadband can download faster than dsl on a windows pc. I have confirmed speeds of 1.5mb/s (dsl speed downloads) on my axim.
Of course my connection is really 5mb/s on my pc wired through router.
