Act! for PPC

Does anybody use Act! CRM Software on thier Axim? I'm currently using Act! 6.0 and am considering upgrading to 2006 so that I can use it on my PPC. Any thoughts?

I use Act 6 and act link. I use PI to view it on my PPC. I'm going to look up Act 2006 to see how or if it's better on the pocket pc.

A word of caution on ACT! 8.0, we have just had it installed at work. The min RAM is stated at 512MB (PC) and they actually reckon that you need 1GB to make it run smoothly.

Not only that but it starts up multiple processes and and an SQL server that takes up at least 30MB of your RAM.

ACT! takes ages to load, is slow to run and is full of bugs. Not least the issue with the mail merge to email, which bails out randomly during your customer email hit.

Horrible horrible expensive horrible software.

Matt, I've used Act 6 for 1.5 years with no problem. It works just fine on my ppc with Act Link, so I have no compelling reason to upgrade. Those who use Palm actually have a version of Act for the Palm instead of a Link program, but all in all I have no complaint. Act 6 gives you a free version of Act Link. I'm happy to help you if you need more info.

I moved from 6.0 to 2006 because I wanted more custom user fields per customer. I spent about 2 days setting up the fields and got confused when it came to mapping the fields for data transfer. I started using outlook because it worked with the Axim. 2006 sits on the laptop without data. Act! 6.0 with Transact worked great. Pocket Informant does a great job of listing appoinments but I miss the histories of how the decisions were made.

Ok so I found Act Link on the Act 6.0 disk and installed it. The problem is, it doesn't appear to be compatible with active sync (WM). I synced it with an older Palm I had and would like simular functionality with the new Axim.

I must be missing something. How do I get them to sync?

Nikkos, I have an x50v with wm2003se, I don't know if Act Link is compatible with wm2005, though I don't see why it wouldn't be. I'm using Active Sync 3.8, what pda and active sync version are you using?

I still can't figure out how to Sync my Act! 6.0 Contacts with my Axim X51. Can anybody help please?
