does Supermemo greatly help memorizing?

I get a lot of things to cram into my head, among which, useful statistics. I'm everyday confronted with new things coming yet memorized things still not absorbed totally. I hear of this Supermemo thing, which is said to greatly help retain memories. My question is, is Supermemo as effective as claimed on its website, which says 95% of the memorized will be kept permanently in your head. Anybody here got experience with that? talk about it,please.

The claim of 95% retention certainly is true. I've been using supermemo for over a year now. However, it is required that you do your repetitions in SM everyday. It's not a tool for craming, but for lifelong remembering. As for cramming, the process in takes too much time, because superemo pays off more in the future, it's an investment that you make :)
I use the Supermemo for PPC to do my repetitions when travelling or commuting. Adding new items in the PPC application is very inconvenient. You should use knowledge collections that you sync form your computer or that someone else created.

I use supermemo a lot and find it very good. You do need to spend a bit of time setting up the databases to begin with, and as tadeas said, you need to be prepared to invest time each day to do the repetitions. Also, it's effectiveness will depend on the quality of the Questions/Answers you use, but with time you will get better at writing these.
I find the best way to use it is to type out the Q&A using some text editor or word processor (make sure you follow the instructions to the letter) and then once you've completed the data base, import it into SuperMemo and go from there. I also prefer to have several smaller databases rather than one large one (ie instead of putting all the stuff from a book into one database, break it up into chapters, of if learning a lanquage, break it up into nouns, verbs etc)

Once you get used to how it works, it's well worth the money in my opinion
