I am wondering if Pocket Plus and Omega Battery Pro aren't largely redundant.

In fact, these software packages seem to only have a feature or two that are really add ons. It seems to me, that they mostly just bring certin WM features to the "destop".

well i suppose they do just bring 'certain features to the desktop' but if those features aren't there already then doesn't that justify their existence?)

I've only used the demo of pocket plus, but as well as the icons, it also adds meters, enhances pocket internet explorer, closes applications, lets you skin your axim better.

Its not essential, I don't use it, but it does do a lot.

They both do a lot. I, however, wouldn't use them personally. There are better alternatives that take up less resources and are, in cases, free. For example, the iLauncher / Resco Today Plug-in + Magic Button + PIEPlus combo is only slightly more expensive but is MUCH more poweerrful and takes WAY less memory / resources than both of these apps.
