Actually, I was happier with PI 2005 thatn v2005. The one thing that I really disliked about PI, the options screen, was improved, but many other things went backwards.
Truth is, either PI or AF would be good. Get whichever one is one sale. I bought PI for 9 dollars through one of those deal-a-day sites.

Both are excellent PIMs and I've used several (including Agendus when I had a Handspring). I've used PI for years now and it's never failed me. I tried fusion also and it's got many of the same feature - I was just more familiar with PI and so didn't change.
The biggest difference is that Fusion is developed by a more formal company and PI is developed by Alex (and his team). His is a company too with the goal of making money - but the difference is that it's easy to tell that he wants to make money from his labor of love. You'll see him actively communicating with the users for feedback and assistance continuously in the forums on his site.

I'm not sure that's the cae anymore. I just saw on another thread where a user was disappointed by Alex's refusal to upgrade him to PI2007 because he bought 2005 just before the free upgrade went into effect. You'd think Alex would help the guy out- he is building a reputation. Also, I have asked about 4 or 5 questions on the PI forums in the past, and never have any of them been answered. The forums may not be frequented by PI users, but you'd think that Alex would stop by every now and then. I'm actually a but disappointed by his lack of commitment. Granted, PI is a great program, and I'm very happy that I bought it (and I recommend it to others). However the developer should spend less time on new features and try to help out his current customer base.

The "disappointment" is frequent no matter where software is purchased. IMHO, Alex has been more than fair in this regard. He clearly states the upgrade policy. Most of the developers I support have similar policies, and he does offer discounts for previous version holders.
With regard to the forums, I go there at least 3 times a week. Granted, there is not as much activity as here or on SBSH, but the majority of my questions have been answered. Alex typically has responses to some threads everyother day. Remember, he is writing code and attempting to clear bugs and improve functionality as well as add new features. PI is where it is today because of his involvement with his users.
Just my thoughts.

PocketInformant is in constant development (as incidentally, is FlexMail, another WebIS product). Revision 2 is underway already. If you are interested, go here.

Wow. A bit harsh IMHO.
1) if you don't have a firm cut-off date, no-one will be happy. 15th of June ?Hey I bought it on the 14th- well OK then you get a free upgrade. Hey I bought it on the 13th...hey..12th ...hey... I bought it on 1st January 1967.... The free upgrade was backdated like 5 months or something IIRC
2) he has his reputation already. :approve:
3) clearly stated- user to user forum but he DOES drop in. Fair go, the guy has to actually spend at least a couple of minutes a day coding ???
4) Forget holding my hand and chatting me up I can get that at a bar, give me more features anyday ! (there is ,after all, a tech support process......)

Not true. Even if he publishes the 15th as the Firm Cutoof Date, he can make a user who bought on the 14th happy. A month is too far back, a week seems about right, though. A businessman who tries to be firm in all that he does will not make anybody want to do business with him. Remember, PI has competetors.

And he's building himself a reputation as a man that I don't want to do business with.

That's true. But as the forums is hosted on the official site of the product, I'd expect it to be maintained. Would he prefer that I write up a tech support ticket?

Maybe I will just visit tech support. I have several questions unanswered in the PI forums
