I prefer Ilauncher now that they have added real close feature. It uses less RAM than PocketPlus. And it has a higher level of customization.

A word of caution how much RAM Ilauncher uses depends on how many icons you add and what size they are. The image (icon) and the link are loaded into RAM they. In addition each icon places a small load on gwes.exe.

iLauncher still my choice

I tried Pocket Plus again recently.
When iLauncher 3 came out a few days ago, I came RUNNING back home.

As others have said, do the trials of both products and see which fits your usage style. One of them will click, the other will seem to be a royal pain.

Same here, except I use both at the same time. I like P+ because of the integration with SPB Diary, Backup, Finance, etc. iLauncher is used for meters and shell icons.

SPB Pocket Plus is infinitely better than iLauncher, which seems very clunky and slow to me.

I take it you've been using iLauncher 3 then? It's only fair to compare recent versions of the program to one another, as otherwise we end up with the 'comparing an Apple PowerMac G4 to a Pentium-II' style advertising to claim one system's better than another. Version 3 works fine for me, and it takes less program RAM to run.

iLauncher -- until PocketPlus supports captions I will never switch back -- it just looks better, and my custom icons isn't the most obvious for an app.

But still, download both and decide for yourself.

@gsalp - strange. I'm also using ePocrates and I don't see any slow down. I have the data files running on my SD card to save main memory. Would that make a difference for you?
I did noticed a slow down too. But I have 10 tabs with @42 icons for each tab, StyleTap with many PalmOS apps, ePocrates on ROM (this one solved the deep slow down when installing it in SD card), but still slow. Not as when ePocrates was inside the card, but I have so much links and tabs that maybe the total footprint in memory is too much.

I'm trying to decide between the two now. This discussion seems a bit dated though since there have been a few updates since it came out. iLauncher seems a few seconds slow after turning the deivce on and I can't tell much of a difference in the storage or the program memory when installing it to the built-in memory (not the main memory). Hmmm... any further suggestions based on the more recent versions?

Based off the latest versions, iLauncher still doesn't touch SPB Pocket Plus.

SPB PP is must faster in its general use, but it does suffer from a dreaded icon bug.

Till recently i used SPB Pocket Plus and since last week I am trying iLauncher. I think i like the features more in iLauncher.
The taks bar takes more time to show up in SPB Pocket Plus compared to taskbar in iLauncher. While loading the Today screen, both of them almost take same time. One advantage in Pocket Plus is i can uninstall the features i don't want. I uninstalled 50% of features for my daily use. Though Pocket Plus has application switcher like in desktop windows (Alt + Tab), it takes ages to show the switcer window and i never liked it.
Overall, i like iLauncher and i think i am going to stick with this for some time.

Said before here, trial both and see which you prefer. Personally, I use SBSH software (PocketBreeze, PocketWeather, ILauncher and SBSH Clock). They give the best support I have seen and I like the frequent updates that appear (free for minor updates).
