Does anyone know of any freeware programs to view powerpoint slides on my x50v Windows 2003? I remember there was a program a while ago which converted the files but I can't find it anymore.
Resco Viewer, which comes the companion CD for both the x50 and x51 will convert the ppt slides, if you have it set up, through activesync on both the axim and the pc. Syncing the file from the pc to the axim will automatically convert them.
...is there a place one can download this? I'd love the program and my X50v didn't come with a CD (excluding the WM5 upgrade)

My recollection is that it was on the upgrade cd, but I can't remember. It would be under the trial programs. The viewer portion isn't a trial, is full featured and continues to work.
Fortunatly, I also own an X5 *Evil grin* just installed it; wonderful app, cant wait to throw it up on a projector!
since it was freeware, I uploaded the installer file (must be installed over AS) here: http://furstar.net/Misc/IAPDelEN.exe
(note: URL is CaSe SeNsAtIvE)
And, yes, it is fully compatable with X50v PPC2003se. Cant test it under WM5 atm, though...

Glad to see it works on X50/51; however, I don't believe it is Freeware since it is copyrighted and Dell probably paid to have it placed on the companion CD.
Personally, I'm glad you posted it for other's to use, although I'll let the powers to be decide whether it is truly O.K. to distribute 2nd hand.
considering Resco Explorer was on the CD and it was a trial, but this was free, it make sence to asume it's freeware... though I cant be sure, of course. Though if the company's out of buisiness........

Ahhh its so blurry, well more blurry than the non-freeware ones. I guess I gotta pay for one. It's because I'm looking at Head Anatomy (nerves/arteries/facial features) and it's kinda blurry. How's the Resco one?
You can use powerpoint on your PC and save a presentation as a series of graphics files (I have the option of JPG, BMP, PNG, GIF), and then use a freeware viewer (eg XnView) to look at them on your Axim. What you see on your axim (ie fuzziness or not) will depend on what resolution you save your images.
Another freeware option is to use freeware converters to save your presentation as an Adobe Acrobat file (there are several, most work as print drivers), and use the freeware Adobe readers to look at it on your Axim (theres the Adobe one which works in VGA with a hack and at least one freeware one).
Resco Photo Viewer is my choice of program. I do realize it isn't freeware, but I think it comes with the x50v. If it doesn't, I can say it's worth every penny. I bought the utility package so I also have Resco File Explorer (also awesome) and Keyboard (cute but not necessary).

Resco Photo can view PP? And yes, it's free with the Axim, if you dont have it, go to the resco website and to the photo viewer and click download. There's a link for an "Dell OEM Upgrade" which is 100% free.
