No idea how to use it. Any instructions anywhere? I can't even figure out how to add a feed.

Question Audiopod - Progress in Use

Downloaded Audiopod today in my search for a decent WM5 Podcast client.

Haven't found any instructions at all - but have sent an e-mail to the author via the feedback form on his web-site.

So far... I have cut'n'paste a podcast URL into the third box down, and clicked the "+" to add it to the Podcast feed.

Double clicking the Podcast URL in the top box then downloads the basic Podcast for playing.

If you tick the "Offline" button and double click the URL in the top box, it appears to (try) to download the Podcast ready for playing as a standalone MP3. The file is dropped into the "Podcast" directory (which is on my SDCard) for playing.

No progress indicator is given for offline downloads though - so I'm unsure whether it's working or not. I've had a 30 second MP3 downloaded as a result of trying this so far - but I'll keep trying.

If anyone makes progress with this app - let me know.

I'm ideally looking for a Windows Desktop Client that downloads Podcasts and automatically sync's them to my PDA for offline listening - but anything that achieves that same goal would be great!

A POD (share) database I found here

The lastest version (10/28th) is RC1, (direct) download here (.cab)

RELEASE CANDIDATE 1: beta version

* Minor bug fixed
* Share your podcast chanels with other users, access to the shared podcast database. (Audio podcast database at

I've read that this is a PODcast app that works instantly. Ofcourse you can always use HUBDOG

I just installed and tried it myzself. It works great and is simple to use. It even plays in the background. It stores the podcasts in my Filestore, not on my SD which has more space left. The program itself is installed in "main"

I've tried Hubdog and others on my PDA, but each time I'm struck by how slow the downloads are. Another problem (for me at least) is my PDA actually switches itself off because the download takes so long, killing the d/l!

The solution I've found at the moment is:-

1. Doppler installed on my Windows XP Machine. All Podcasts saved to a network directory called "Podcast"

2. Mobsync (http://www.pocketpcfreewares.com/en/index.php?soft=985) installed to automatically sync the "Podcast" directory to my PDA at every sync.

Both Doppler and Mobsync are Freeware, and so far, so good - this setup works.

The upside is I get a fast regular download of my podcasts to my PC - where as trying to sync from my PDA over Wireless is always going to be slower.

.
Ofcourse is the download time depended on the download size, something which all programs have.
I haven't got a problem with download time. I must say it goes quite fast working wireless, 801b/g when I tried it out yesterday.

The PDA doesn't switch itself off. It "sleeps" but the download continues.

Had a response back from the author of Audiopod regarding our confusion using the software...

"Hi,

there is only 2 buttons (+ to add a new podcast, PODCAST to podcast), so I didn't intend to write a manual. Anyway, tell me what are the difficulties you met I'll try to help you. Ther is a forum on the website.

Best regards"

I guess I asked for that response. :-)

As I said, I've found an alternative solution (Doppler on the PC, MobSync to PDA) for my own Podcasting offline - but Audiopod will stay on my SDCard as it's a single .exe, small, and seems to work easily for listening to a PodCast where you have a Wi-Fi connection. Not so keen on it's offline use is all.
