Outlook Alternative?

Hi!
I'm just sick of my problem of trying to get my X51 to sync with Outlook. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, hard reset, soft reset, updated, etc.....I've read just about every online help I could find.

I mainly use outlook for the calendar utility. I don't use it for email at all. Is there any software that will allow me to have a desktop calendar(must be printable) that will sync with a PPC calendar? I have extensive scheduling issues and the calendar is a MUST for me.

Thanks for any help anyone can give.

Susan

Have you tried setting ActiveSync such that it only acts upon the types of information in which you have an interest?

I do not use OutLook on my PC at all (ThunderBird), yet I sync with OutLook for the additional backup it provides.

ActiveSync is set to sync: Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, SplashIDSync, PocketQuicken, and Files. And that is it.

Thanks for your reply....

Yes, I've tried that. I have it set to sync contacts, calendar, tasks, notes, and files. It syncs fine with EVERYTHING else, but I get message "activesync encountered an error on the desktop: support code 85010014.

Outlook works fine on the desktop, and worked fine with my axim x3. It must be a wm5 problem?

Thanks!

What version of ActiveSync? Search on 85010014 and you will find many, many hits. Most stating that it is an Outlook problem.

it's 4.2.0 build 4876

I just updated it yesterday when I couldn't get it to work with Outlook using the version on my new x51 installation disk.

Wow - that looks like great software, but the price...
(did I mention that I'm a school teacher? Over worked....under paid?)

Yes, that's one reason why I'm just giving up on Outlook and looking for another calendar utility...

(Nice website, by the way, AKAJohnDoe!)

Thanks. I need to get some real web building tools, but it is a start.

I have used my PDA exclusively for scheduling for many years, through many different PDA types. My current setup is a Dell X50V PPC running PocketInformant with PocketBreeze. This handles all my needs without a desktop component and I can carry it everywhere with me.

Is there some way to print a monthly calendar without the desktop component? That's basically was my only use of Outlook.

I am not familiar with any.

I use the Monthly View of Pocket Informant with Mini-Text Detail.
