ACiD Sync lite v1.0 beta 10 , sync your memory cards

I found this info just now.

ACiD sync can sync you're data from and to memory cards, something which isn't possible with ActiveSync, yet.

"ACiD Sync is a file synchronization utility designed to work with devices dubbed by Microsoft® as Smart Devices. These devices include Pocket PC's, Smartphones, some Treo mobile phones and the new Motorola Q series. ACiD Sync enables the ability to synchronize files stored in a "My ACiD Sync" folder on the Desktop PC with a corresponding "My ACiD Sync" folder on an external memory card of a Smart Device─a capability sorely lacking with Microsoft's® own ActiveSync® desktop synchronization utility. These files can be of any type and any size ─ ACiD Sync can do 'em all."

The idea comes from Ed Hardy from the Brighthand website.

Seems to be faster and more stable to me. I think Mobsync is written in Delphi or something, this one seems to be written in native code. Though Acid Sync also lets you run scripts before and after the sync on the desktop so you can do stuff like copy files from other folders/computers or stuff like this.

Icon14 ACiD Sync Lite Edition 1.02

It is now up to version 1.02 and I've found it solidly reliable. Even paid up and registered it inside a week! :)

Card Export II 2.20 by Softick. com is a program that allows you, while your Axim is in the cradle, to switch from Active Sync to become a SD card drive as seen on your computer. You can then do anything to any SD card folder or file thru your laptop while connected.

I used this program for over a year when using a Palm. The WM5 version is just as flawless and functional.

Card Export is something completly different from AcidSync. Via the explorer/Activesync I can manage my cards too.

I don't want to be a pest, but could you explain to me the advantage of AcidSync? When do you use it? For what tasks?

Thanks DwightFry, always trying to learn about new ideas!

I backup/sync my SD card to a folder on my PC once a week using a card reader.
I was looking at other methods to sync while the Axim was in the cradle, but some of the files I sync are 35+MB backups.
I think the Axim cradle is actually a serial speed USB cradle and not true USB 2.0 speed.
I never timed it, since I can't sync it using AS, but I assume it would take forever syncing with one of these programs.
Anyone have any thoughts?
Otherwise, I'll just keep doing what I'm doing now, putting the card in a reader and using my sync software which is great.
