I just ordered a VGA out cable for my x51v and I'm anxiously awaiting its arrival. While I'm waiting I loaded some Powerpoint presentations on to my Ax but I notice what could possibly be a problem.
Some of the pictures that are embedded in the presentation do not appear on the display as I view them (but others do), and some of the slides layouts are screwed up.
Will this be visible when I plug the VGA cable into the projector and show them on the screen? Or is it just a matter of trying to cram too much information on to the axim display?
When I check the document properties the size of the file on my Ax and the size of the file on my desktop are identical, so I assume the pictures are still there and weren't lost in the conversion.
What do you guys think?
If it is going to be visible on the screen then this obviously isn't going to work. Are there any free powerpoint type viewers out there that would display the pictures correctly?

As i am aware of it, the vga out is going to display the same as what you see on the axim. The axim has great graphics, 640x480, so anything that needs to be put on the screen will be.
No FREE powerpoint viewers/editors exsist for the pocket pc platform :-(

The only freeware option I know of that is likely to work is:
1. Use powerpoint on your desktop to export the slides to JPG or similar graphics files
2. Use XnView (or the Resco Image Viewer that came on the CD-ROM with the Axim) to display these as a slide show
This will cause you to lose transitions, sounds, or any other dynamic content, though.
As for Payware, if you bought the cable through Dell, you get the CareVue suite with it, and this includes a separate Powerpoint viewer that has worked well for me ("free" if you buy the cable from Dell at an inflated price ...). This allows output through the VGA cable at resolutions higher than 640x480, a definite bonus!
I have also bought PocketSlides which works great for me.
