How to open Excell File - that has password?

I have some files on my PC that require a password to open - I have the password.
When I put these xls files on my x51v w/WM5.0 how do I enter password so I may read? If just try to open these excell files I get en error that says " files are password protected". Help.
Thank you.

Are you able to remove the password protection. Make a copy of the file on the pc remove the password and then use that one on the Ax.

I don't think you can do this with Pocket Excel. Download the trial of SoftMaker Office, and open it with PlanMaker...that is their version of Excel.

The PPC version of Excel converts alot of data (and formatting) when transferring files.
It also disables the password protection (so to speak) which means you cannot unlock the file/data on the PPC without first removing the password on your PC and then transferring it to your PPC (sync).

I got round this problem by creating a basic shell of the file containing multiple sheets on my Axim X30 with password protection. When I next sycnched the item appeared as unresolved and, upon resolving it, it asked me for the password. A perfect copy was now available on my pc which I then fully updated to the correct spec. This file then synched back to my Axim without any problem giving me a complete working .xls file on both Axim and PC taking full account of multi-spreadsheet rules.:approve:

Hope this helps on your Axim.

Thanks for all the advice. I was able to delete the password request on the file and I am OK.
